We made a spontaneous stop in Lodi on our way home from Lake Tahoe to check out this spot and wow, it absolutely exceeded expectations. We ordered the 13 piece Chefās Choice Moriawase with each piece of sashimi sliced impressively thick. These were the most generous cuts Iāve ever had in life (and Iāve eaten my fair share of sushi from all around the world). The dish was beautifully presented on ice, enhancing its freshness, and paired with real, freshly grated wasabi for an extra kick. Every detail, from flavor to presentation, was on point. Forgot to take a pic since we ate everything up so quick. Minus just one star as we would have liked our server to explain and give us the names of each sashimi piece we were being served which is fairly typical to do at most fine sushi establishments. Will def be back if in the area again!

Iām visiting from out of town and my cousin was excited to bring me here and honestly one of the worst dining experiences Iāve ever had. We waited over an hour for our food to arrive at the table, and during that entire time, not a single staff member offered any apology or explanation for the delay. The lack of communication and basic courtesy was unacceptable. When you dine out, you expect at least a minimal level of customer service, and this fell far below that standard. I wonāt be coming back, and I wouldnāt recommend Amici Sushi to anyone looking for a respectful, timely dining experience.

Not a great experience and pretty awful service. Waited 1 hour to receive our food, including an order of miso soup, never had our water refilled, and the table next to us broke a small plate by accident and shards of ceramic were on the ground for about 20 minutes before the staff came and cleaned it up. The sushi rolls were almost all rice and the rice was overcooked.
When taking our order, I was initially impressed that the guy didnāt write anything down and took the order by memory.. that was until he got it wrong and we didnāt even get all the food we ordered..
I wish I went to Dennyās or the food truck area instead.. very dissatisfied.

The ingredients, preparation, and presentation were perfect. The eel was done with precision. The rolls were delicious, and the real crab makes such a difference in taste, elevating the California roll. I was also able to request real wasabi (not horseradish) in a small dish. These plates were worth every penny, and the dining experience was terrific. The chef also came out to talk with us about how he sources ingredients and what he looks for. Rest assured whatever you're eating here, was made using ingredients picked with experience and a specific purpose in mind. It will be hard to find something like this anywhere else for such a good price. The rolls pictured in the photo are the Crunch & Munch under the chopsticks, Butterfly roll nearest, and the California roll to the right. The real wasabi is pictured second.

Most Japanese restaurants in Northern Californiaāespecially around the Bay Areaātend to follow a predictable formula: bland miso soup, dry overcooked salmon teriyaki, and neon green fake wasabi served with sashimi. But this place exceeded expectations across the board. They clearly pay close attention to details that most others overlook, which really deserves appreciation.
The miso soup was probably the most flavorful Iāve ever hadāeven compared to places I visited in Japan. Thatās impressive, considering miso soup is usually an afterthought, served almost like a freebie. The care they put into it really stood out.
I always order salmon teriyaki (I know itās not the most authentic choice, but itās my comfort food), and after trying it at dozens of Japanese restaurants in Northern California, this was the first time the salmon wasnāt dry. It was juicy, tender, and thoughtfully prepared.
The sashimi was another highlightāserved on ice, with great flavor and real wasabi, which elevated the entire experience.
If I lived in the area, Iād be here all the time. Honestly, most Japanese restaurants in SF or San Jose donāt match the quality of this one.
