Hungry Al’s advertised for 6 days a special menu for May 4th. They were to open at noon. At noon they were not open and didn’t know when they would open. At 1:00 I called to ask if they were open. Yes! At 1:00 there was one item on the menu available in 10 minutes. Very poor management. We won’t be depending on Hungry Al’s again.

Great place for lunch. Very cute little building with multiple TVs that were showing football on Sunday. Very friendly and attentive staff.

Brisket+baked beans were the best I’ve ever had. Though we tried a bit of almost everything and it was all excellent.

Fantastic. Best BBQ we have had in ages. Pulled Pork was moist, not salty. Tri Tip succulent. Everything had a nice smoke flavor not over smoked or fake smoke. BBQ sauce was great and the rolls nice and soft. The Cole slaw was really good too. Cute place to stop.

Stopped on a whim while traveling and it didn’t disappoint! As many of reviews highlighted, the Mac and cheese is delicious!! I also enjoyed the pulled pork sandwich and the staff were friendly.

Kid-friendliness: They do have a kid’s menu which is awesome!

Stopped here on our way to our CA destination from AZ today. Wow. I am sad that we missed the brisket - it was sold out by the time we arrived but if the tri-tip and pork ribs are any indication -- it was legendary. Our plate combos were outstanding. Full of juicy flavor and sauce. I loved the mac and cheese as my side and the potato salad is quite buildable in flavor from everything else on the plate. It does have celery in it, if you're allergic.
What a great spot near the highway. If coming back through here next year, we may just have to stop back in and revisit! Wish I'd gotten to get the brisket.

Definitely add it to your travel stop for some delicious protein & carbs! :)

My visit to this barbecue restaurant was on Monday December 17, 2024. I first hesitated and prayed about going there but my desire for barbecue chicken got the best of me. I read the reviews and they were overwhelmingly positive, so I decided to take a chance. Big mistake ! Just for information, the reviews said very little about the chicken ! After enjoying what I thought would be a great chicken dinner, (8hrs later) I woke up with a terrible urgency to rush to the toilet. Long story short, I was experiencing Food Poisoning 🥶 patronize at your own risk!

Best place to stop if you're hungry and passing through. Don't hesitate, the options to the north are terrible, and south you will pay a lot more for less.

For a Texas OTR driver, it may look pricey, but worth it for their good hospitality and food. I ll be back when on route again and again. God bless
