This is the cheapest gas in the area. If your gas light is on and you are going down the 5 and it's been hours since you left Castaic behind and you are super freaking out about gas, first you'll see the gas stations in Gorman, and you will be tempted to stop. Because you need gas and probably a potty break. But trust me... You can wait until Frazier Mountain Rd. It's only like 2 more miles and most of it is downhill. You can coast on fumes and hold out for Flying J. Because it's cheap, big, and clean. We walked in to find the restroom and my daughter looks around and says, "Why is there like... everything.... here? What kind of gas station is this?" "Well, it's a rest stop. Not just a gas station. It's supposed to be a place to rejuvenate." "They've succeeded," she said..I agree. They have their Wendy's, some decent seating, spacious shopping, clean bathrooms, and even a decent selection of last minute snow play accessories. Stop at Flying J. You'll be pleased.

I stopped here for a bit to use the restroom. The Flying J Travel Center has everything you need for the road and more. I got some snacks and a cup of coffee. The restroom was decently clean. Service was friendly.[Review 21042 overall - 549 in California - 5 of 2024.]

Really polite people at the main mini market. One of the cleanest rest stop bathrooms I've ever used and actually some snacks that are affordable and reasonably priced. Gas is also very reasonable which is rare just off the highway.

Unfortunately, the business hires some of the worst people, people who enjoy threatening and harming innocent people as they flex their power at your expense. They sell all kinds of groceries including beer, but if you try and eat your food or drink a beer, they call the police and have you arrested. The bathrooms are beyond filthy, and all the nice stuff they do for truckers doesn't help anyone else. The ordinary folks subsidize the truckers. They hate the old and the disabled. They treat people like sewage. They show total disrespect for the disabled. A few good workers but mostly vile and nasty, always insulting, yelling at you and threatening you. Avoid. Avoid this business. I've stopped here for more than 40 years, and the staff is now so vile, it's not worth being insulted, threatened and yelled at.

5:30 in the morning, lots of people looking for breakfast items and they have nothing--food area is basically empty and there's one guy behind the counter.

This is our favorite rest stop on our frequent drives across the Grapevine. Bathrooms are always clean, coffee is always hot. It's open 24 hrs for late night drives and the staff has always been friendly.

They have a wendy's that is open 24/7 and plenty of other choices when it comes to food. Place is fairly clean and gas prices I would say is fair. My son loves coming here specialy when we want a mini road trip just to get out of LA.

Not like other pilot flying J’s. Yeah they have gas, showers, and a small market, but they really lack on the fresh food marketplace. They never have the breakfast pizza.

No propane? Manager talking bad to an employee as I walked in making her uncomfortable in front of customers? WOW I thought flying j had higher standards

I hope they are just severely under-staffed because the place is a mess! The coffee bar is always filthy, never stocked, most of the machines are either out of order or just not maintained. Don't count on there being any breakfast in the heat lamp thing because most of the time it's empty. Cmon, I've been to many of these stops, you can do better.

Last weekend, I had to pick up my daughter at a nearby Girl Scout camp. It's a funny thing, I drove cross country this last summer and enjoyed every second of it, but somehow driving north on the five towards the grapevine just seem to take forever. It's all relative I guess. After grabbing my little girl from her mountain enclave, we stopped here at the flying J top off my tank and grab something cold to drink. I have to hand it to this company, they are consistently good no matter where in the country I have seen them. The story is no different, clean, lots of selection, cordial staff. Sure, I wish I was driving somewhere far away, with my camper behind the truck. But even on these little one hour out kinds of trips, it's refreshing to stop at a gas station that seems to remember when they were called service stations.

Flying J is usually dependable. Lots of pumps, like me in my 20s, and clean bathrooms, not like me in my 20s. The wife said her bathroom was filthy, but maybe the custodian was out Smoking J.

After spending a day riding the motorcycle over the mountains and across the desert I was hoping for an old school truck stop with a driver's lounge and sit-down restaurant. Sadly they are disappearing. This updated version of a truck stop was still a welcome sight. I tried the pizza and wings from their PJ Fresh food kiosk. The wings were about like you'd expect. Breaded, frozen, heated up, and sitting under a heat lamp. The pizza... meh. There was a Wendy's there too, but I wasn't in the mood that day. After I ate I noticed the display full of fresh sandwiches, salads, and fruits. I guess I had walked right by them, but I wish I had seen them sooner. I would have picked my meal from there for sure. There were plenty of drinks to choose from, a row or two of trucker's necessities, a few rows of snacks and other convenience store items. Restrooms were roomy enough and clean.
