My sister and I recently had the pleasure of experiencing wine tasting along the California Coast for the first time, and our visit to Ampelos Cellar was truly delightful. Ampelos Cellar is located in the Lompoc Wine Ghetto - a four-block stretch of warehouses for over 26 wineries. The tasting at Ampelos Cellar was exceptional, and we had a fantastic time chatting with our host, Matthew Reynolds who made our experience more enjoyable with his warm engaging personality. Great wines, amazing owners and staff, and sustainable farming at very reasonable prices. The quarterly pickup parties are always fun and informative. Peter and Rebecca have created a great wine community and farming practices for others to learn from. The only wine membership you need!

Great wines, great price point, great staff. I almost don't want to post how much I love this place for fear it'll get too busy, but would rather everyone know that it's worth a trip to the Lompoc wine ghetto if only for this place than to have it go unnoticed in the cacophony of central coast tasting rooms.

This place is awesome! Probably our favorite winery in Lompoc. My wife and I went by there and met Matt. He was super knowledgeable and very friendly. All the wines were fantastic, and we really wish we would have signed up for the wine club before leaving (we might just have to call and set it up). We love how sustainable they area, and they seem super passionate about wines. We recommend this place, and will certainly be back.

From The Infinite, their sparkling wine, crips and juicy, through the fantastic well balanced Pinot Noirs to the wonderful Syrache?And on top of the wines, great staff and the lovely owners Rebecca & Peter, who are so passionate about the wines and how they produce them ! Really cool tasting room. Ampelos is one of the few wineries that is dedicated to sustainable practices. The tasting room attendant, Stacy, was super knowledgable and you could tell she really had a passion for what she does. I really enjoyed the Sarash (however you spell that) got two bottles and will definitely go back for more!!
