Chill spot to have some burgers. Definitely have had good and bad here though, so its a hit or miss. But it is what it is, seems like they're short staffed when it gets way too busy in there around dinner time waits can get a bit longer especially if you have kids, take that into consideration plan ahead

The burgers at this place are huge and so tasty. It’s like a big Mac on steroids. They use a 1/3 patty for even their single burgers and for a place in the middle of nowhere. It is worth the trip if you’re near Lompoc, California.

Nice community store and diner. This Jalama beach is a secluded beach and this diner is the only one out here. The drive here and beach are amazing. The food is pretty but the view is first class. This beats out some of the fancy beach side dinner pots. All very reasonably priced with wonderful people
If you come here, please be respectful of the community that lives here while driving down these roads and do your part to clean up after yourself to keep such places beautiful

We were recommended by locals to go to Jalama Beach especially to have a meal at the general store. It’s definitely a very quirky and fun place, with lots of memorabilia and the food (especially the burger) was delicious. A nice place to have a meal with an ocean view and then walk on the beach.

Jalama Beach is the most southern beach on the central coast, therefore it doesn't compete with southern California restaurants but rather makes this one of the best cheese burgers in the entire region. Who has a better cheese burger on the central coast?

The atmosphere is incredible. It’s this secluded beach side shack, plunked right out of a Beach Boys album cover, and just happens to be serving up one of the best burgers on the California coast. Also, the original owner is 90 years old and still working the registers. The service is great, super fast, and very friendly.
The Jalama Burger with cheese is the best McDonald’s Quarter Pounder EVER! The beef patty is flavorful, well seasoned, and juicy. This burger is also just fun to eat because of how piled high the vegetables are. Red onion is a great addition because it is slightly sweet which is a great contract to the rich meaty patty. Pickles and tomatoes add additional moisture, acidity, and brightness that cuts through the cheese and juicy beef. The inclusion of shredded lettuce imparts so much amazing mouth feel to each and every bite. The Jalama Sauce is a slightly sweeter version of In-N-Out’s Secret Sauce. Lastly, the bun, is a sesame seas bun which rounds out the sandwich with umami.
These fries are a KNOCK OUT!!! Again, they are very similar to McDonald’s but executed to absolute perfection. They are ultra crispy, sharp as knives, hot as hell, and covered in a heavy layer of seasoning salt. These are literally at top 5 French fry for the books!
Jalama Beach Store is the DEFINITION of a hidden gem and needs to be experience by anyone and everyone!
