We had never made a reservation for the tasting, but we did this time in case it was busy. We had delicious wines and great service on a stunningly beautiful day. Our trip to the Melville Vineyards was nothing short of fantastic! We had a short but informative tour with Trystan, which included parts of the estate vines, their production and barreling areas, and then a lovely outdoor tasting. We were also extremely fortunate to run into Garrett, their Assistant Winemaker, and he spent nearly 30 minutes taking us through their winemaking process, and answering all of our questions. We gained a greater appreciation for winemaking, and for Melville wines, which was confirmed with the excellent array of wines they included in our tasting. This was definitely a highlight of our five days in and around the Santa Barbara area. We highly recommend the tour at the vineyard.

The seating options outside overlook the vineyard, some shaded others not. If you’re in the area or just driving through, be sure to stop.

WHERE do I even begin! Santa Rita Hill HEAVEN. Their Pinot Noir's will make your Uvula quiver! My FAVORITE wine by far. Melville Santa Rita Hills Pinot!!!!!!! Worth every penny! We did taste a few other varietals. And they were also outstanding. But if you like Pinot...You will be blown away here!
