We’ve tried almost all the taco places in town, and these are some of the best! Other standouts are their burritos, enchiladas, empanadas, and specially their shrimp and Al pastor tacos are amazing. But really every meat choice is great. The tortillas are not “freshly made” I don’t think, but the meats are amazing here and they really give you a lot for the price.
Place could use some cleaning and care in the seating area and bathroom. But we continue to come back again and again and bring people who visit us. They love the food everytime and that’s what’s most important!

Don Tacho is amazing!! Great prices and fantastic food!! My family and I usually get the carnitas family dinner with 2 pounds of meat, a 16 oz beans and rice. You can't go wrong when your feeding a large group, it goes a long way and you even have leftovers!! I definitely recommend this place! I highly suggest getting the grilled Jalapeños and onions!

Very sparse and modest interior, but super friendly service and good vegan food make up for its lack of atmosphere (don't be fooled by it).
You order food at the front counter, reading from a posted menu, asking questions of the server and easily negotiating the ingredients you want added or omitted, then have a seat at the limited number of tables in the back. The layout is awkwardly unique, but it works if you're not too picky.
I ordered a vegan mushroom soup with cactus added as an option, served with corn flour tortillas; freshly made guacamole and tortilla chips; and a sumptuous vegan burrito (which I saved for breakfast the following day, it was great).
This is a hidden gem, some locals in this small town don't even know about it.

I live in vandenberg! Got my order wrong, went back to pick up my new burrito they were very nice and confirmed it was right! Read my order back to me, went home and it was wrong again! Called to try and get it fixed, placed on hold and then they would hang up! Not happy at all.

Some places claim to have a Military Discount when at times a $95 multi-meal order for multiple people, only get .95 cents off the whole meal with that Military discount there. Flashback from a previous time. To top it off they want an official Miltary ID when you may have literally an official “Veteran” Imprint on your California ID, a Veteran Park pass and another Veteran form of ID for post-service verification as proof of service. I mean who else is supposed to have the Multiple Proofs we have. Please owner in charge of this establishment , I urge you to do some research on how us Veterans May Verify our proof of service, WITH MULTIPLE forms of ID, multiple.
If your reply is: Well they are enlisted and have an ID, what does it serve those that are currently enlisted, to when they are out of the service, and also show you their other Forms of proof of prior military service, that does not include an Authentic Military ID to kindly ask for a Military Discount? Please and thank you for your time.

On June 6th, 2024. I took my husband and 11 year old who just graduated from elementary school out for BRUNCH. One chose American host (which was packed, the other another restaurant in town) and I chose DON TACHOS.
Not only was the guy in the front welcoming and patient with us (with me bc I was undecided on what to order) but towards the end he came to our table and gave my son an ARROZ CON LECHE CONTAINER to go congratulating him for graduating that morning. I WISH I WOULD HAVE ASKED FOR THE GENTLEMAN'S NAME BUT I will for sure NEXT VISIT.
Not ONLY was the food delicious but the gesture alone. Meant alot to me at least That was the icing to my boys cake and made our entire day ONE TO REMEMBER. So thank you.
The food was delicious. The asada burrito had a lot of flavor. The chilaquiles with green salsa were amazing. My kids also had the shrimp tacos and enchiladas. Everything was good.
