I was very disappointed in very little choices of food on the menu. My trout was good but nothing special no added flavor and feel presentation could have been much better. My husband had the shepherds pie and he said under the mash potatoes the meat was a big hunk of fat. Very disappointing. Lunch menu was much better a few months ago when we first came to Red Bistro

Such a wonderful experience every time we come here! Everything - I mean everything - is fantastic: service, food, drinks, atmosphere. Even when they are busy, it's not too loud and the attention from the servers is just right. Highly recommended!

Stephen, our server could not have been more wonderful, helpful, courteous, funny and enjoyable. The salmon was spectacular. The Coq au vin was not great. The flavor did not taste right. It did not taste like the chicken had been cooked in wine and there were no baby onions. A VERY expensive meal. Very nice ambiance.

The space is quite nice. The three booths near the bar are comfortable though next to a bus station & enroute to the bathrooms. The service was excellent and the food good but not mind blowing.

This was our third experience with Reds. Booked for our Valentines dinner. Sat right away in a great booth. Server greeted us right away. Offer med a sample tasting of the bottle of wine we were considering. Sample was great. Ordered bread, Beet and Citrus appetizer along with the olives. Food service was not rushed made for a very nice experience. Being Valentine's often times restaurants make you feel pushed to get through the dinner and out to turn tables fast. We had our entrees along with their featured desert. All the food was excellent. Service was attentive without being on top of us. We went at the speed they set with food delivery. Could be our most favorite Valentines dinner ever. And we have had 30 of them. Yes we are older but still young at heart. Shout out to our waitress she did a great job. Sorry I do not recall her name.

oof. ok for starters, i'm basing my review off a holiday (valentine's day), so maybe it was just an off night? we arrived earlier than our reservation time, so we grabbed a few drinks at the bar. stephen was our bartender, and he was just the highlight of our evening -- so much fun, great service, and even though i am NOT a beer fan, he got me to try the blood orange hefeweizen they have on draft.. YUM. the hostess (who was so sweet), told us that they could seat us early. we got seated at our table and after hearing stephen's recommendations and confirming what we were going to order, we knew it was go time.. filet mignon baby! *insert drooling emoji*. our server, abby, was serving many other tables, so when she got to us, she was apologizing for the wait. which we expected, it was valentine's day afterall! no biggie. then she slapped us with the, "i do have to tell you we're all out of steak options". womp womp. we ordered the sourdough with whipped butter to start, as we needed more time to find new selections. i think the chefs forgot to fire it, because we waited about 22 mins for it, and right as it was brought to our table, our entrees followed. our table was tiny so three big plates felt crowded (& rushed)? the salmon was delicious and the pasta had great flavor though! we decided to try their dessert which was an excellent choice. that peanut butter crumble is what dessert dreams are made of. overall, despite them being slammed, everyone was so friendly, and abby did a great job as our server. i was back on forth on whether to give a higher rating, but we were honestly so bummed that they were out of the filet.. which is an item on their regular menu. i understand that you can't account for everyone's selections ahead of time, but we both were so excited to have a nice steak dinner :( parking is a little slim around the restaurant, but there's a huge lot nearby. not sure if we'll make it back as we live about 45mins away, but it might be a better experience on a regular day!

felt very rushed, could not order anything until we put in our entire order together. Could not have an appetizer while we were deciding on dinner. No decent vegetarian options - been here a few times. Its a hit or a miss

The staff is great, really take their menu seriously and are very personable and helpful. The staff appears to know each other very well and work together like friends and family. The salmon was absolutely fantastic but everything we had was great!

This is our third time at Reds This time for our Valentines dinner. Seated right on time giving at great both. Service was prompt. We order a bottle of wine the waitress offer a sample to try first which was great. We order the Beet and Citrus appetizer along with the Olives and bread. All were excellent. Our main dish's were the salmon and the filet. Again both were excellent. We order the desert special and it was amazing. The food flow was not too fast and not too slow a very pleasant dinner experience.

Small but well thought out menu. Good food. Excellent atmosphere. Service was outstanding. Exceptional restaurant for this area. Great bar to drink and eat at. Overall a great place for dinner

Fabulous menu. Party of two shared appetizer and dessert, both perfect. Two entrees were equally phenomenal. Easy on-street parking. Atmosphere lovely, except the acoustics need improvement:. All voices were too loud, and only the bass part of music was received by our ears. Highly recommend, for special occasions.

Ok guys I’ve found it. The food snob from the Bay has located a French restaurant with incredible food and a comfortable atmosphere in the greater Sacramento area. Gems like this are few and far between up here. The location is quaint, modern, and comfortable in downtown Loomis. The ceilings are high, brick decorates the walls, and natural wood beams accentuate the height and structure. Lighting is modern and cozy, creating an intimate vibe. The staff is fantastic. Everyone is friendly and just relaxed enough to not create anxiety but not so relaxed that they would miss even a single detail. We were seated quickly at a corner table and the team helping us was prompt, courteous, and thorough in covering the specials, wine selection, and favorite entrees from the menu.Ok, onto the important stuff (at least to me). Food and wine. The wine selection emphasized quality over quantity. It listed familiar vineyards, and, some not so familiar including local wineries. We selected a Cabernet-Merlot blend from a Loomis vineyard called “Small A$$ Vineyard” (aptly named after their two donkeys) and it was fantastic. While the selection was not long nor short, it didn’t lack in character in terms of offering or breadth. The food. We have lived in the area for three years and I can say, with confidence, that Chef Daniel has prepared, without any doubt or hesitation, the best meal we have had in the greater Sacramento area. We were provided an amuse-bouche with salmon, duck paté, and warm delicious bread. That was followed by two appetizers - the citrus-beet salad and a half dozen oysters, three Kumamoto and three from somewhere I wish I could remember from the East coast. For the main course, we enjoyed the chef’s special - duck confit (with lentils and a spectacular kumquat marmalade) and I had to splurge and get the filet. The duck was expertly prepared, as was the filet, and the filet was lightly seasoned to perfection. The filet had sides of chard and potatoes making it not only delicious but also filling. We ended the meal with their crème brûlée. I am not sure how they do it, but the top was perfect to caramelized and the crème itself remained silky soft and cool. It was topped with mint, citrus, and raspberry. Absolutely divine.I’m not a fan of writing glowing reviews and would prefer to have some constructive criticism to keep it balanced. But here, I don’t have any criticism, only compliments.A+ all around. We will absolutely be back.

Nicely decorated. Service was rushed (even though restaurant wasn't full in a Saturday night). A table Of four was in and out less than an hour. Limited beers on draft- several more cans and wines available. No bar. Food quality lackluster to poor- from bland and overly battered fish, an odd tasting burger to inedible tough and chewy short rib special; food was very disappointing. We didn't bother with dessert or second round of drinks. Will stick to other favorite local restaurants; like Josephine and Chefs table.
