Historic restaurants serve Basque dishes. The staff was nice and they have this family style sitting style. A ready-made menu course depending on the date. The serving is a feast even with two, the fries and pasta was delicious.
My favorite stop on the way to Fresno. Charming and friendly ambiance. The food is authentic and plentiful. A glass of red wine is included.

Basque beans and a nice fresh salad. Good way to start the Merced Spring Fair. Try there house red .. special blend you will love. Great music in bar. Be sure to say hi the the bartender Andy... He is spot on taking care of customers.
