The asada there is fire ?. The tacos are with the yellow tortillas instead of white and I recommend the asada torta, basically anything asada lol.

Friendly and fast service. Food has always been great and you get enough of it for the price. Call ahead and pick it up on your way , very easy pick up. Highly recommend this place.

It's a definite two stars for the restaurant (maybe One Star except you shouldn't expect much more because of where it's located) but I gave it a bump because of the good food. It's a small local dig. It's connected to Plaza Market. I don't know the restaurant name, but it's no longer Toucan. They spent some money dressing up the outside where they have a bunch of pictures of menu items on the building wall and fence to read as you drive by. I took a couple of pics. Maybe it's for efficiency to start thinking of what you'll get as soon as you park? Anyway the inside no longer looks like a picture I see in the reviews from four years ago. It looks now like they haven't kept it up since then. If you don't mind fly's buzzing a round you while you eat you'll be ok. Novelas blasting in the background as soon as you walk in. Seat yourself? Go to the hidden counter around the corner? Whatever goes here. Don't like their drink selection, go to the store and pick something else, just walk through the kitchen. Bathrooms probably not checked daily/weekly. Enough about the place. The food was pretty good. They barbecue/roast chickens outside to sell in the market. I'm pretty sure they use that same chicken in the restaurant dishes because it was tasty. I was there with four adults and two kids and everyone's food was good. The menu has all you could want in Mexican place. We all ordered different things. From enchiladas, pupusas (my favorite), tacos, a hamburger, and a simple rice and chicken plate for kid #2. I'd go back if I was in the area by myself but I wouldn't bring someone who expects classy places like Taco Bell or Panera. If you have any other option go there instead but if you have a hankering for good Mexican food quick, stop in.

Went to 'El Tucan' to discover it is no longer 'El Tucan'! Under new management. No worries as this is a gem of a place. Mexican restaurants are defined by their salsas and the one served here was fiery hot and delicious! My wife ordered Papusas & I enjoyed a huge steak with rice and beans - NO cheese unless of course you request. The owner also serves you and he is a delight, very appreciative of your visit. Unlimited sodas plus - food for two plus tip - $20. Sensational! Very Easy to get to: from Clovis - Shepherd to Friant to '41' to Ave. 9 to Ave 35 to Ave. 7/Highway 145 NW corner.
