Very poor communication and watch out as they will over charge you and lie to you about what you get and what you don't. Be careful with these people.

Authentically made port that tastes as good if not better than ports from Portugal. Very friendly and knowledgeable general manager.

Ficklin is a hidden gem. I never expected to find a world-class Port winery just a handful of miles west of Fresno. The sign said reservations are required to visit the gorgeous tasting room, but they cheerfully accommodated our unscheduled visit. None of the wines were less than $20, but the quality more than made up for that. We each got served three free samples. The wines were surprisingly different from each other. This is a true hidden gem in the central valley and worth a stop if you are driving through.

Everything was perfect - wine, knowledge, environment. We ended up buying several bottles. Same evening we ended up in total wine - only to see the same bottle for $7 less. Not a big deal, and left a sour taste.

Wow. What an incredible experience. This was a very pleasant surprise. My husband and I, along with my parents, are Port aficionados so when I saw a port winery outside of Fresno, we were very skeptical. Boy were we proven wrong! We showed up 30 mins before closing but not once did Denise make us feel rushed. In fact, she took the time to thoroughly explain everything to us and add in personal stories. We LOVED all of the port we tasted. The Old Vine Tinta was a fan favorite and it just got a perfect score of 100 points in the Sunset International Wine Competition!! The best part? It’s only $22! We all enjoyed our experience so much that both couples signed up for the PORTfolio Wine Club. It’s $115 biannually, which is well worth it. You get 3 bottles of their latest release along with discounts and access to special events. If you don’t live locally, they do ship for member’s bianual boxes at a $19 flat rate and you’re able to add on other bottles for that same shipping cost. Did I mention there are no tasting fees?? Please do yourself a favor and check out Ficklin, you will not be disappointed.

Discovered a wine trail in madera and decided to do a few tastings for a friends birthday but wasn’t aware of needing reservations. The sommelier was so experienced and welcomed us with open arms. The wine spoke for itself and we walked away with several bottles. I’m hooked.

Love this place, my husband and I are not wine drinkers, but we decided to check it out while we were in Fresno. We were greeted by a nice gentleman by the name of John, he gave us a wonderful description of the different kinds of port wines and how they are developed, along with a taste of each one (4 in total). We loved the port wines. They deserve all the medals they have received through the years. My only regret was that we were unable to purchase any to take home and they do not distribute to PR, we will be on the lookout for these wines in the future. We highly recommend this port wine to everyone. J&J

Haven't been here in like 20 years. Finally ran out of my many bottles. Had to get more. Same as ever. Great port. Great people. Did I mention amazing port.

Some man who works here is one of the most arrogant people I’ve met. My friend came to visit from the east coast and we were all excited to go wine tasting here as they have her favorite port. We didn’t know we needed reservations. When we got there, we weren’t greeted at all and stood around awkwardly for 10 minutes. He proceeded to ignore us as we waited patiently and finally turned around in annoyance and asked if he can help us. Keep in mind, the winery is open for purchases, which we would have gladly done as we just wanted to be acknowledged and get some port. When we told him we were there for a tasting, he said smugly that it was by reservation only. We asked if there were any reservations later and he said no and went back to ignoring us and helping the other people. We left so disappointed and offended at the way we were treated. I also called today to see if I could make a reservation, since I know that is the only way to be treated politely. I asked if there were any reservations available and a can answered and said curtly, “Not at all.” It was so rude and I will not be going back or recommending this place to anyone.
