Favorite place to eat!
My wife and I actually got married in the room they rent out next door with Sal's catering the whole thing. The manager Eddie worked with us on everything and gave us tons of opportunity to test things out and decorate and rehearse. Staff was super professional and everyone worked so hard to make sure our special day was perfect. Thanks so much Sal's we'll always be back!!
My family and I have been coming to Sal's for years. We love eating here. Kids love the rice and beans. They say that Sal's has the best beans of anywhere. I really love the Huarache with either shredded beef or grilled chicken, delicious!
Lately I've been disappointed by the chips though. I thought they may have changed vendors temporarily but they're still not the same good chips that they used to have. Bring back the good chips please!

This place doesn't even cook the food in this location, and it tastes like it. Sad

Good service and good food. Won't disappoint.
Have to change my post. Still have great service but food not so much. Salsa used to be so good but they have changed something. We actually travel to Fresno to have Sals.

Before ordering I asked 'IF' they know how to make XTRA Crispy hard shelled Taco's (both Waitress & waiter that took over said fairly Crispy or theirs BREAK ... I took the chance and it was Fine .... I usually always ask for double refried beans because the rice in Mexican good places is hard to find to my liking since I am partial to ours @Home .... but this one was actually the ONLY other edible item on my plate. The chili Relleno the seeds were left IN and there was too much fried egg batter coating that I wound up scraping off and the cheese just is there .... I like the rellenos that have the great MELTING cheese that flows out like a lava cake as soon as cut (but, I atleast ate 1/2 after working around seeds and outer egg batter) .... then I was so glad I had forgotten to ask for 2x the beans, because they were soooo very SALTY (I could NOT even keep that 1st bite in my mouth and my 3rd item was a bean & cheese burrito that I asked for a piece of foil so I could eat it later at night for dinner when I got back home which turned out to be 3 hours later. But, like I told my waiter b4 I even left the restaurant that I was NOT even gonna get to eat and enjoy it because It would have been made with the SAME over salted beans ??
The waiter NEVER even asked or offered to swap it out for something else .... But that is okay because I just NEVER have to return to that location in Madera off of Cleveland anyway. I actually would have paid my tab and left immediately after tasting food, but I needed a place to eat and hang out for awhile after having an eye cauterization procedure done, and like I mentioned above .... the really young gal/Waitress? was so sweet and was always checking and making sure I always had water filled and constantly asking if I needed something even though she was also sweeping, vacuuming, wiping down tables and getting new diners their chips & salsa and drinks (she was the youngest worker in there around 2:30 p.m. ... but very hard working !!)
I am really bummed I wasted almost 20 bucks for a 3 item combo and could NOT even enjoy more than 1/4th of it. Oh well, live & learn. Not even sure how this Survey arrived IN my inbox .... but .... just F.Y.I. to anyone curious and may just want to purchase smaller meal options to TRY out their taste buds 1st. For those SALT LOVERS , YUMMY
Parking: They had 1 handicapped parking , but since it is also in Front of a Dominoes Pizza place, the car parked there b4 Me was partially 1/2 in the Disabled and partially 1/2 in the curbside pick up for SALS .... but those gals came OUT of Dominoes and did NOT even have a Disabled placard when I asked them .... so I would know of I was the one that would have to re-park.
Wheelchair accessibility: There is wheelchair accessibility, just only 1 parking spot right in front.

My wife and I have ordered the Macho nachos for years last night was the 1st time we have been very disappointed hardly any beans the meat was dry and chewy what meat there was there was just a thin layer of beans and dry chewy meat on top bottom just tortilla chips the freshest thing on the nachos was the tomatoes on top expected a lot more for $20.00

They had incredibly dirty dishes and extremely smeared cutlery. The service was horrible I had to wait 25 minutes for a refill of my water and a extra 10 for my order to be taken, it was not overly packed and it was decently empty and yet they still took a long time. Our table was dirty and the food took almost 30 minutes to get to us. The food was horrible a sad joke for Mexican food, my burrito was plain, a complete lack of seasoning, I could go from the lack of flavor in the rice to the dry clearly old meat to the store bought tortillas, this place is a mess and when I asked for salsa they served me something that tasted like water. The quesadilla was drenched in a pool of water from the ground beef they had used, this place is truly a sad excuse for a restaurant. A former image of itself and most likely never going to return to that greatness

I live on the east coast but every time I'm in Cali I NEED to get the Chile con carne James plate at least twice! I've tried to recreate it but I just can't make it as good as Sals.
