Go on Karaoke night! Even if you don't sing, it's a fun ambiance and the food is better than you'd expect.
The servers are attentive and kind and patient, even with little kids.
Go for an experience and to build shared memories, especially if you're local.

Please be aware if you are looking to book any type of event here!!! We booked 4 months ahead of time, and was dealing with the “manager” Erika, everything she had told us from day one was contradicting. We told Erica that our party would be between 120-150 guests. She never gave us a straight forward answer on many exactly the room would hold, other than it can hold for sure 100 and that she could bring in extra table and chairs to accommodate our guests.
Then one month before our event, Erika calls to inform us that they would have to charge us an additional $300 and only 100 guests would be allowed in the room we reserved. The other guests would have to be placed in another room separated from the main party, and there would be an additional charge. This makes no sense as we had previously spoke to Erika, about we would have entertainment, she mentioned nothing about there being a problem with our party size. Why would I want our party split up?? She had said one month before that we would have to provide a guest list and everyone would be checked in getting a wristband. None of this was even mentioned prior to putting my deposit down.
Erika had cancelled our party saying they couldn’t accommodate our guests, so when asking for my deposit back, this is how unorganized she is, she was so adamant that I never left a deposit and was so rude saying I needed to come down and show her the receipt. After showing the receipt, she magically found my deposit. ?
As mad as we were about this place being so unorganized and unprofessional, leaving us a month to find a new venue for our party, we found something 1000x better.
So as I’m forced to leave one star, the only thing I can justify the star is thanking Erika for being a very rude and unprofessional manager, that resulted in us finding an awesome venue.
There are so many beautiful venues here in Manteca, please look around and don’t make the same mistake we made. Just giving everyone a very honest review. Would hate to see this happen to anyone else. Thank you for reading through.

Walking in we were overwhelmed with an odd smell. Apparently the main dining is under construction so we were seated in the bar area. Dingy and dark. The lights are different colors throughout. Looks like an old dive bar but whatever. We asked for water and some got soda. The taste of the water was disgusting. We asked for water bottles and the server was apologetic and got us water. The soda had that same taste. Once the food arrived it wasn't terrible but then we asked for ketchup for my 5 yo grandson. He said it tasted weird soni tasted it as well. Has a chemical taste so something is going on in the place. I also submitted a complaint with the San Joaquin County Food Inspector

Decided to go to the Manteca Strings for lunch while visiting family, and found that the main dining room was closed for renovation when our group of 6 arrived. Diners were seated on the bar side which was rather dark. Our server was friendly and tried to be as helpful as she could, but we quickly learned she was literally all by herself - the only server there!! And there were at least five other parties inside when we were seated.Needless to say - lunch took more than 90 minutes. Everything took longer due to one person trying to do it all. And sadly, the food was not on the same par as other Strings we have frequented. The bread was likely day-old and not fresh or warm. The meals were ok, but we were so hungry at that point that we would have eaten whatever was put in front of us. Lastly, a young woman suddenly interrupted our meal after we had finally started eating and stepped up to our table to show us artwork she was holding. She then preceded to ask if we wanted to purchase them - while we were literally eating. When we said no, she asked if we could give her a dollar! We immediately asked her to leave. We were all left trying to figure out how she had even gotten into the restaurant - the door was obviously not being monitored. We will not be returning to this restaurant.

I would not go there for lunch. It felt like they were just taking orders while they set up for dinner. Had to sit in bar while they set up the band. Horrible atmosphere. Will not come here for lunch.

My first time coming here I ordered the fettuccine alfredo with chicken and the alfredo sauce was aweful. The sauce was not made with cream it gave made with flour, like an off white gravy. The artichoke appetizer with bread was good. I prefer Olive garden or Macaroni grill, the food is a 10 in comparison.
