Tacos Chapala Manteca

My girlfriend introduced me to this fantastic taco spot. I’m from the bay area and I’m used to the best tacos being found at food trucks, so when I saw that we were going to a Mexican restaurant with a storefront I had my doubts. My doubts were cleared as soon as we ate the food. This place has an amazing salsa bar with 8 different salsas and most of the salsas are at least medium spicy and a few are really spicy. They also have great add ons like pickled vegetables and cucumbers.

Now for the food. We just ordered a bunch of different tacos (chicken, chorizo, al pastor, carne asada, tripas, and quesabirria).

these were the best chicken tacos I’ve had! Most places mince the chicken or make it too dry, but this chicken was juicy and delicious

Al Pastor: 4.5/5 this was pretty good too. The meat had a nice char and pineapple on top but not the absolute best I’ve had

these were good and had a nice char and pineapple. The flavors didn’t stand out

Carne Asada: 4.5/5 the carne asada was pretty good! It was chewy and paired well with the salsas. It could have used a little char

Tripas: 4.5/5 tripas are hard to get right and this place does it well! Not too crispy and not too soft. Right in the middle where I like it

pretty good but I’ve had better! The consommé was delicious!

Overall really good and if you get a chance to try the jalapeño salsa, please do! It’s very spicy and absolutely delicious

Super burrito was filled with a lot of rice very little meat. The meat was very chewy.

Came here with my family of 6. Ordered tacos for myself quesabirrias for the wife. Kids had the pollo asado plate. Everything was great. New place to get Mexican food. Also they have a great salsa and condiment bar to go with the food. Very pleased with their food and service!

Well, I went to eat and ordered some chicken and range enchiladas, I thought they would give me the canned sauce, it had a horrible, horrible flavor, and they charge you separately for the chips. It's the last time I eat there

I ordered on doordash so i was a but skeptical with how the quality was gunna turn out, but i was so pleasantly suprised. Its the best burrito ive had in the 209 since coming back here in 2023 from LA. The Pastor is so meaty and compliments the cali burrito so well. Definitely will go back.

The food was amazing. This is my new favorite for Mexican in Manteca. They got our order correct,the food was outstanding and the service was great. This will definitely be our go to from now on.

BEST BURRITO PLACE IN MANTECA AREA BY FAR!! I am picky when it comes to burritos, but this place is super bomb, with the green guacamole salsa. Definitely my go to spot for burritos, can’t wait to try the rest of the menu.

we got food from here $38 FOR FOUR TACOS!!!!!!!?!!!!!?!?!?!?!?!?!?! let me emphasize on how small they was. also they didn’t give us napkins or any salsa. tacos were ok, the lemon is what saved them, couldn’t rlly taste any salsa in them. came in these tiny little boxes cute & stuff but ive definitely had better tacos from elsewhere.

First time eating at this spot n boy let me tell u. Since its a restaurant athmosphere I thought the prices would be high. I was wrong. Very competitive with other fast food spots. Asada fries were delicous n 1 plate feeds 2. The burrito was better then other spots n about the same price. Ill be getting all my Mexican grubb here for now on out. Highly recommend it. Wont be disappointed. Sincerely
