After a few months of trying to communicate Iāve given up & decided to just warn people. On August 16 & 17 we went to Cortez Room because we had my sisters 21st bday celebration.
After a few days my cousin and I noticed that our card transactions were more than what we were told when we paid. (I try and leave cash tip for this exact reason) for me specifically, a $40, $9, & $10 over tip chargesā¦.. total of $59.
The manager was very kind, tried explain that it could of been a system error & for the sake of being respectful I went along with it. But we all knew that the white, mid size girl with glasses handling the back bar was tipping herself after every transaction. At no point would she turn her card tool around so we could finish our transaction (shame on me for not paying attention I know).
Although I did receive a refund from my chase acc for two over charges, my Apple Card bank did not want to refund me & so Iāve made a few attempts to contact Cortez Room directly to see what can be done since this was the $40 over charge but sadly itās been crickets since around late September. Even after going in person.
Iāve accepted that I wonāt be receiving the rest of my money, so this is just a warning that after a night out no matter where you go, review your transactions. Remember to keep a receipt, try and use cash, i also started taking a picture of the final recipt once signed! Iām sure the bartender needed the $40 more than I did š¤¦š»āāļø

I havenāt been to downtown Marysville in a min! Last night was awesome the staff at Cortez room was really friendly and awesome! and the vibes were just right! They got beer pong and they got a dance floor with a dj! Iāll be back again soon for sure!

A serious dive bar! The fact that they hired the server from another bar who serves underage children should tell you all you need to know about this dive bar.Avoid. Do not go.

since under new ownership, the bar has expanded and is now larger and better. its a great little spot in downtown, with friendly staff. Also they have the cleanest bathrooms of any bar Iv ever been to.
Parking: Parking is usually not too bad, may have to park a block over if anything
