The team could be more friendly, but the food is quite basic and lacks variety. It’s also quite expensive for the quality of food you receive.

Loved the dinner I had at June's Café. It was a perfect meal after I arrived and especially really loved that they had vegan options. The staff was kind and informative. And the space has a specific summer camp kind of vibe that I really enjoyed.
Had the banh mi sandwich and it was a blast!!! Can highly recommend that place for dinner.

Surprisingly Stellar Food in a Rustic Setting
June Bug Café in Midpines might look unassuming—order at the counter, grab your drinks and salad or soup, and they’ll bring your entrée to your table. You bus your own table when you’re done. It’s part of a rustic lodge setup with cabins and dorms… not exactly fine dining at first glance.
But don’t let the casual setup fool you—the food is absolutely next level.
I had the Slow Roasted Herb Marinated Half Chicken with mashed potatoes and gravy, and it was fantastic. Tender, flavorful, perfectly roasted. We also tried the Vegan Roasted Cauliflower and Sweet Potato Curry Samosas, which were surprisingly complex and delicious.
They rotate their menu daily (check Facebook!), and everything is made with care. Salads were fresh, soup was rich and comforting (Cream of Broccoli with Carrots today), and the portions were solid.
Honestly? Probably the best meal we’ve had on our national park trip—and we weren’t expecting that from a little hillside café. Highly recommend.

Delicious food with vegetarian options! We stopped here on our way back from Yosemite and the food was perfect after a long day. Would highly recommend!
We have tried a lot of dishes. All of them are really good. The steak is superb. Buratta with asparagus salad is super nice.
Got the breakfast special. It was tasty. Service was excellent. Enjoyable breakfast on our way out of Yosemite
The food we ordered (salmon & rib) were delicious yet a little overcooked. This place is self-service style: you bring your food to table of your choice, and bus the trays to the kitchen window. You get your own water and drinks after paying upfront to the cashier. However, the receipt suggests you to choose either 15% or 20% tips, or you can enter your own amount. We found it’s an audacious asking for a restaurant with a minimal service to ask 15-20% tip.

Food was good. Had the baked chicken and Mac n cheese. Desert was apple pie. Very good. Service was great. Wish they had soda but that's ok. :). Atmosphere was nice and relaxing. Comfortable couch near fireplace.
100% legit spot. While rustic, they put out high quality food. Meat, Fish and Veggie options are spot on. I suspect it is one of the top spots in the area based on 2 others we tried. Nice wine and beer options. Hope they expand to the Bay Area.
Surprisingly large venue with a choice of self seating, including outside. Take mozzie lamp if you are going outside as they are on the war path. Overall food was a high standard and the drive from Oakhurst worth it, especially on a nice evening. I would go again and try brunch next time.
Nice mountain cafe, the farmer's breakfast was great. Call ahead of time to check the hours we went at 9p and they were closed.
I had dinner at June Bug Café during my trip near Yosemite, and it was a great find! After hearing mixed reviews about the park and lodge restaurants, I decided to drive a bit further south — definitely worth it. I ordered the St. Louis style pork ribs, which came with mashed potatoes. The portion was huge, and the food was solid overall. The BBQ sauce was a little too sweet for my taste, but still enjoyable. Prices are on the higher side, but considering the limited options in the area, it’s understandable. If you're looking for better quality than the typical park restaurants, I’d definitely recommend checking this place out.
