One time I ordered beef egg foo young..it is not on the printed menu, you have to ask for it.it was the best I ever had..another time I ordered the same thing and it was the worst I ever had.different cooks?I dont know what happened..not consistant with that dish anyway.
Great egg fried rice and tangerine chicken. I would classify this as your classic Chinese American restaurant with a California setting. Generous portions and delicious food

Ordered 5 items over phone for pick up. Wrong order given. All items incorrect. Food cold and inedible. Restaurant did not answer phone, did not answer text and did not resolve their mistake. Do not trust them ever.

First time.
Restaurant needs a fix up-
carpet heavily worn
Two booths occupied by storage supplies
Mirrors not cleaned.
Ordered takeout. Phone service was good.
Food was average. Got some dinner combos.
One thing was forgotten, but they provided service when I realized and called in. I guess I will try them once more.

Good food and service at a great price
Did takeaway order today, ordered on line around 10 for a 12 noon pickup. Was on time, well packed and good quality. Have been coming here for many years and is always reliable.

I've never been here before but I ordered from doordash on a whim.
We had the wor wonton soup, pupu platter, and the veggie egg rolls. They also sent us pork ribs! I'm guessing the pork ribs were a bonus. Either way, the food was absolutely delicious! Next time I'm in the area, I plan on ordering from them again because the food was so good! 5/5

Food not as good as before and the service is not good.
From the outside, it doesn't look like much, but once inside, it's just like a classic Chinese Mandarin restaurant. The staff is friendly the food is really good I've never had a bad meal there and we've been going there for years. It was my daughter's favorite place to get Chinese food good Chinese food.
A Hidden Gem in Granada Hills – Mandarin Island Restaurant
Finding Mandarin Island Restaurant was one of the best things that happened to us! Their food brings back the amazing flavors we remember from New York Chinese cuisine—something we haven’t been able to find anywhere else in the area.
The BBQ spare ribs are absolutely fantastic and taste just like the ones we used to enjoy in New York. Their shrimp with lobster sauce is flavorful, filled with large, juicy shrimp, and incredibly delicious. We also love the sweet & sour chicken, which is perfectly balanced and cooked to perfection.
Some of our other favorites include the shrimp fried rice, beef with broccoli, fried wontons, and the tangarian chicken, which you can get spicy or mild. Every dish is fresh, tasty, and satisfying.
Whether you’re dining in for lunch, ordering takeout, or having food delivered (which they conveniently do in our Granada Hills area for a nominal delivery fee of just two dollars), we highly recommend Mandarin Island. It’s truly a local treasure!
They also offer online coupons, which makes their already great food an even better deal!
Great food. Great service. Amazing lunch special. Grab yourself a Tsing Tao and have a great time.
Excellent fast and rich service.
