good cook bbq

Prime rib was not good at all, the salad was soaked in dressing and the mushroom appetizer was bland and unseasoned. I also ordered a slice of cheesecake for dessert and it was not fresh and very dry so i did not eat it but still paid for it!

They went from $29 to $38 for their T-bone steak while they still promote the $29 price on their website and Facebook. Scallops went from $2 to $3 each. Our waitress even complained that they have even stopped giving two pieces of toast for breakfast while the prices jumped drastically. This establishment is in a run down building that they own and it's not like rents have gone up. Beef hasn't had a drastic increase and bread is cheap. They a price gouging. We won't dine here ever again.I should have complained about my overcooked t-bone steak. But whatever I'm not one to make a scene at their business. Just learned my lesson. They are not getting my business anymore and hopefully this helps more people make informed choices!

Great food, great environment, great workers. Kelly is always amazing, very friendly, inviting and kind. Linda greets everyone with a smile. The food here is delicious and very reasonably priced. The vibe is good for anything from date night to a place to enjoy a dodger game. You can't go wrong with Safari room!

Great old time hole in the wall. Hard to find this flavor these days. Reminds me of being a kid when my parents would take me out to dinner. crisp flavorful salads. Large fresh steak. Strong drinks. good prices.

Old school hidden gem! Sshhh, but if you're looking for something out of the 1970's, this spot has it with an updated twist (no smoking). Clean well kept. The food and drinks are wonderful and we enjoy coming here, when we can.

Wow, oh wow does this place need a new chef!! The food was literally inedible!! Like a few others have already said, the prime rib was just awful...tough, tasteless, overcooked and the au jus gravy that you usually dip it in was so salty that it tasted like someone spilled a container of salt in it by accident. The lobster was totally overcooked and rubbery. Other steaks were tough & tasteless also. The salad is not a "salad" but just lettuce with dressing on top. I mean really, how much could it cost to throw in some cheese or tomatoes or croutons?? The mashed potatoes were completely flavorless and the gravy on top tasted like it came out of a can. The veggies had NO prep to add flavor at all. Totally tasteless!! The meal for everyone in my group was just the worst and we're not all that picky. The place was busy, which just goes to show me what a drastically low level of expectations people must have for what qualifies as a good meal. This was truly GARBAGE!!! I will say that the staff was lovely and everyone was really sweet and working very hard. But sadly I have to say STAY AWAY unless you want to throw away good money!!

My buddy and I frequent the Safari Room for lunch and many evenings for dinner with the wives. Today I looked at the breakfast menu and decided to have the ham and cheese omelet with hash browns. Excellent choice, the ham was incorporated in the eggs, and melted cheese was on top, hash browns crispy on the outside and perfect on the insides. I'm gonna add Safari Room to my breakfast list of go-to restaurants.

The campy sign and throwback interior drew my party in for a late lunch. We loved the scratch-made Thousand Island dressing (the menu says so) on the coldest Iceberg lettuce I've ever had. Split the Reuben with my friend and it was spot on. Others had the Beefeater and we all cleaned our plates!

Solid food, solid service. This restaurant is an icon as it has been there since the fifties. The large NY steak was great. The fries? Better potato than most places. Superior. Tight parking in the back, not a looker but a very good meal. Go there for the steaks and the old school ambiance's.

Consistently BAD reviews. This place sounds like a real crap hole. Overcooked flavorless food. Thanks to everyone for their honesty. Going to spend my money at a place that deserves it.
