Old fashion bbq. My family has been coming here nearly all my life, over 50 years. It's crazy to say, but I'm all that time, i always get the same sandwich, the Bear Pit Special on garlic toast. It is delicious!🤤
Any of their sandwiches are even more delicious with their garlic toast. Dang, I'm feeling the need to go again!

We live in new Zealand 🇳🇿, every time we head to California we go to the bear pit. Good old fashion BBQ. Best in town heads down👌
Definitely needs a little bit more salt to make it a five star but it's decent however it is very pricey

An absolute San Fernando Valley classic institution! Now better than ever! About the past year, every time we've gone I've noticed the food has greatly improved. It wasn't bad to begin with but sometimes the meat was way overcooked. However, they've made some major changes. Every single time, the food is on point. The meats are perfectly smoked, the sides are great. The service is always good.

Nice home-style mom and pop dinner vibes, although I wish it was a bit livelier, maybe some music? Then again the food is so good here, it ends up being the "lively" I'm lookin for. Highly recommend you try their garlic toast and if you wanna take it one step further, get that brisket sandwich with the garlic toast, and thank me later. Matter of fact, im going to go get one right now!

The chicken and bbq aspect of the food was good. What made me give this place 3 stars for the food were the sides. The macaroni and cheese was bland. Also the potatoe salad tasted like it was pre-made from a store bought tub. The people and service were nice and great though.

First time here. Parking can be a little tight when it’s busy, much larger inside than expected. Very friendly and fast service. Large menu, it was hard to decide at first. Large portions. A little pricey, but worth it. Very flavorful. Highly recommend and will definitely return to try something new.

Got the bear pit special not impressed but I must say the waitress was beautiful.
I could have gone to Ralph's or Von's and buy the same amount of ham and roast beef a loaf of bread for less than $7 dollars instead of $23+ and it was bland ðŸ˜ðŸ˜©ðŸ˜¬
