I’m not the type to ever leave reviews, however, the quality of this establishment was extremely sub par. The fish was slimy, grey, and smelly. Hopefully it doesn’t upset my stomach, but we shall see. The “cooks” had no uniforms on and were in their everyday clothes. On top of that, no gloves. Staff is very friendly and quick, so no complaints on them. Would not come here again.

Great variety of rolls and the fish is always fresh, My favorites are their albacore & salmon nigiri, spicy salmon and spicy yellowtail handrolls, In & Out spicy roll, One Spot roll, Alaska roll, TNT roll. Everything I've tried on multiple visits has been very good.
They do add an automatic gratuity of 15% to all checks, just FYI.

Came here with my family from a suggestion. This of the first sushi place I've ever been to that tried to charge us for our 2 year old to eat with us. $24 for a 2 year old to eat maybe half a roll. Absolutely insane. Won't be returning.

Kid-friendliness: $24 for a 2 year old. Insane.

I had an amazing experience at Sushi One Spot, especially with their buffet-style option. The restaurant has a sleek, modern vibe with plenty of seating, making it perfect for both small gatherings and larger groups.

The buffet selection was impressive — from classic California rolls and spicy tuna to more unique creations like mango salmon rolls and crispy tempura shrimp rolls. Every piece of sushi was fresh, expertly crafted, and bursting with flavor. The sashimi was melt-in-your-mouth tender, and the variety of nigiri options kept things exciting.

Service was quick and attentive, with staff regularly refilling drinks and clearing plates so we could fully enjoy the dining experience. The buffet pricing felt very reasonable for the quality and variety of food offered.

If you’re a sushi lover looking for variety and value, Sushi One Spot is a must-visit. Come hungry — you’ll want to try everything!😋

Sushi One Spot in Montclair is a hidden gem for quality sushi at a great price! I came on a Monday night, and there was already a line. They offer both AYCE ($29.95 lunch!) and à la carte (BOGO rolls!), plus $2 beer and sake to top it off.
The sushi quality is excellent, fresh cuts and generous portions. My favorites were the Cajun salmon, seared garlic salmon, creamy salmon, garlic shrimp, and Cajun tuna nigiri, plus the XOXO Roll, a flavorful baked roll with imitation crab, avocado, and baked langoustine. If you're doing AYCE, don’t miss the third-round exclusives like sashimi carpaccio, beef tataki, and scallops!
The service was friendly and efficient, and the lively atmosphere made for a great dining experience. Highly recommend for sushi lovers looking for quality and value!

Sushi One Spot in Montclair is hands down one of the best sushi places around! The quality is always top-notch—the fish is incredibly fresh, and every bite is packed with amazing flavor. You can really taste the difference.

The staff is so friendly and welcoming, which makes the experience even better. They always greet you with a smile and make sure you’re well taken care of. The atmosphere is great too—clean, cozy, and perfect whether you're grabbing a quick bite or enjoying a nice meal with friends and family.

If you love sushi, this is definitely the place to go. Always a great experience, and we keep coming back for more!

The sashimi is not fresh. The fried chicken has no taste. Workers who are sushi do not have gloves, and their mouths are facing our food. This is not Japanese sushi at all.

I had the most wonderful lunch here. They had a really good all you can eat special but decided to order off the menu. Everything was prepared so well and tasted slavery fresh. Service was amazing. The staff was so friendly. I like all the selections of rolls they had as well as a good kids menu. Had a nice dessert as well. Atmosphere is is really nice with sushi bar seating, nice dining area and a patio.

Nice, big restaurant space. They've totally updated their look with a beautiful cherry blossom tree in the middle of the restaurant. Their AYCE menu is pretty pricey but good; about $40 per person which does not include a drink. They've added new appetizer items such as garlic edamame and tonkotsu. Good place to take a large party depending on the time, of course. Service is usually a 4/5; they are pretty nice and quick but there have been time where we were waiting a while to receive the check.
