Good atmosphere, good service (it does get hectic)Note to management **IF A TRIBUTE BAND CANCELED, PLEASE USE THE BIG SIGN YOU HAVE ON THE FRONT OF THE PLACE TO LET PEOPLE KNOW INSTEAD OF A SMALL PIECE OF PAPER **I agree to a degree, WE should be aware(who's not coming here buzzed) , but as a popular establishment, it is YOUR responsibility to help the consumer make a better decision where to spend their money.Thank you.

The drinks were the worst I've ever had. They need new bartenders. The bathroom reeked of urine. This is nothing like my experience at their other club, New Wave. I will not be back here.

I love the 80s bar. My type of music ?. It gets packed, the best part is the tribute bands n Taco truck waiting outside ?Parking: There's plenty of parking across the street

Lots of fun, great music, tasty, (but kinda expensive) drinks! Get the Long Island Iced Tea in the fishbowl & share with your crew! I would go back for the right occasion. (The tribute band was 1.5hrs late & didn't really play the hits....ugh.

The security guard (woman) rejected my id because it was damaged but still in tact. I was out and about tonight and they accepted my ID everywhere but here. They said it's illegal to accept it ,which is false. ID is still legible. Don't come here!

Cool place & the drinks are definitely watered down. That's why they're cheap. Lots of good 80s music though.

Got a vip table, comes with 5 entries. Table never to us noticed we had more people and offered to give us their extra 3 bands . They started since they had already paid for they would gladly give them to us, security declined. Our group was big so we decided to ditch the paid table since they act like ours a high end Hollywood club... Drinks are not strong at all . The band and music was good. Crowd is older. They start kicking people out if they even suspect you had many drinks so be careful. $15 cover charge.

It was ok. $15 cover charge is a little high for the place. $10 is in my opinion a decent price but for a$15 cover charge it's over priced. Doors open at 8pm but it didn't get a crowd till almost 10 since the cover band was at 11pm. So charge the Early Bird special of $10 before 9pm at least. ( that's my business opinion) It may be a bar & it's a fun bar because the music is just great but if you're going to have alcohol you should be able to order some food even if it's just appetizers, THIS location has no food & you can't order in from door dash kind of service. They told us there's a taco truck outside but none ever came while we were there. The security guy took his job seriously with no customer friendliness at all he was very rude to my friends & I. Drinks are over priced & serviced in small glasses, I got better size drinks at the Red Onion & less expensive. The cocktail server was pleasant & he apologized for the lack of food but it was not his fault this location didn't serve food. He brought us ice in a glass but no water. You had to order bottled water for $4. Over all, we will never go back to that location. Each of us spent $30 on getting in & one drink & bottled water in the first 15 minutes, & that didn't even include the Tip. You could go broke within a 3-4 hour span that you're there. Ohhh , here's a kicker!!! They don't take credit cards or debit, so they are making money on you as well for using their ATM machine inside. Ok I guess I should end on a positive.. The Pickle Back Shot was good even if it was over priced at $11.00 it's one of my favorites. You can see the sign for it behind our group picture.Parking: There is very little street parking, and there is a large parking lot across the street but it's the parking lot for the Pomona indoor swap meet, you take a chance parking there with a lot of homeless in the area, and they say the gate doesn't get locked but the other gates were closed. Security said the gates get locked at 2 am but make sure you're not parked there when they lock the gates..

Hidden Speak Easy....."Matterhorn Lodge inside The 80's bar. They are only there until March 16, 2024Only open Fri - Sat7pm - 1amYou must call to make reservations$20 per person for a no show2 drink minimumThey placed a blue band on your right wrist for entranceNo street parking but you are allowed to park across the street in a parking lot..Even though signs state no parking and a bar/gate you drive through. When we called to make reservations, we were told to park across the street. We asked again when we arrived (no cars were parked there) They reiterated to park across the street in the parking lot. I needed to make sure, I did not want to end my evening with a parking ticket or towed. No cost for parking or entrance into the Speak Easy! You scan a bar code from your table or go to the bar and order. They recommend ordering using the bar code for faster service. They accept cc and if you pay with cash there is a discount. We paid with cc, easy to scan the bar code, order then pay all in one transaction. I started to leave a cash tip when my friend directed me to look at the receipt from when I scanned and ordered, the tip was included as well as tax on the tip.It was confusing because when I was directed to pay using the scan, there was an option to tip, for ex... 18%...20% as well as a tip that was already included plus tax on the included tip. The already included tip was what I was going to tip in cash so no biggie there. Just need to know beforehand.Drinks were fast and delicious! The atmosphere was superior! The immersive surroundings, excellent. Yeti was AWESOME! He came around several times, adding something different each time. Stopping to take selfies with everyone. The waitress....GreatDefinitely arrive as early as possible to get a table, somewhere to sit.Drinks only, no food. There is a Taco person outside. Grabbed a delicious burrito afterwards.

That 80s Bar is a good time! I've been here quite a few times, the most recent being last weekend. I've always had fun. Groups of girls, you are going to LOVE this: The crowd is more mature (40 and up). It is a huge bonus because the guys all left me and my girlfriends alone. They read the room a bit better than the younger guys typically do. If you want to catch up with your girls on a girls' night, this is your place. Everyone just wanted to dance and have a good time (even the guys who came solo). Obviously, if you want to meet guys, you still can. I'm sure any guy would be open to talking to you if you approach him. For us, it was just so refreshing to not have a bunch of aggressive guys bothering us on our girls' night lol. Made for a much more relaxing and enjoyable experience. For context: We are all 35-45 and are way past wanting to deal with creepy dudes. I like that the playlist leans more towards '80s funk/R&B and freestyle like The Gap Band, Egyptian Lover, Lisa Lisa and Cult Jam, and Debbie Deb because that's more what I grew up with. I heard the standard and expected pop hits like Madonna, Stacey Q, and Depeche Mode too. It was just '80s music which is what we came for. No surprise 90s or 2000s hip hop like you hear at other "80s Clubs." We saw The AC/DC cover band Dirty Deeds. They were very good and professional. The cover bands start at 11:00 and play for about an hour. Things to know: 1. Parking is directly across the street in the huge swap meet parking lot. It is very close to the bar itself, so it is safe. A few other reviewers didn't think it was, but I have a lot to compare it to: The parking lot at their sister bar in Fullerton is a bit of a walk down the street with random vagrants walking by, so I feel less creeped out walking to and from my car at That 80s Bar in Montclair since you can get to your car in under 3 minutes. If you arrive before 9:30, you can usually park in the small parking lot at the actual bar. 2. The charge is $15 (cash only). This is only on Fridays and Saturdays. There is no cover on Thursdays. 3. There is no food available to purchase. Only drinks. That being said, there is a taco stand directly outside so you can buy something to eat either before or after. 4. I paid $10 for a Modelo and a bottle of water. Water is $4 per bottle. This is the only reason I can't give 5 stars. It would keep everyone from getting too drunk to provide complimentary self serve water in small cups. It's definitely worth it to check it out! There isn't another place like this in the area.
