California Bun

I got 4 buns:
- Chicken BBQ 2/5
This was alright but good have been done better. Overall, unmemorable.
- Meatball 1/5
This was really bad. Feels like old food and the taste was not good. The bun itself was okay but the meat inside had a weird taste.
- BBQ Seoul 2/5
Interesting texture and the taste was below average. Bun was damaged. The sauce was alright but I wouldn’t try again.
- Veggie Voom (egg) 1/5
The veggies were not mixed together, the tomatoes were on one side of the bun and spinach in the other… a little weird but the overall taste was fine. Definitely not fresh though.

And I also got tatertots, they were average and actually not greasy, so that’s good.

I had the Tuscany chicken bun and pistachio iced latte, and I really liked both. The latte was delicious, and the staff are also very friendly.

Ok I really thought this place was a chain! The quality is so good and the logo, design, menu, etc. is top notch! Will definitely be back again. Also the coffee was delicious! It was also really cool when I looked up to see if it was a chain that it was the owner who was working when I picked up my buns! So nice to support local.

Kids love it, I love it. I love that that they are partnering with the local Camp Moorpark and Action Academy to offer lunches to the kiddos. It's a great community spot and really delicious and unique!

I just tried California Bun for the first time, I ordered the bbq loaded tater tots, the sunrise juice, and a cafe latte and all 3 exceeded my expectations! Best tots I’ve had in a very long time. The employees were friendly and helpful and everything was made fresh right in front of me. Would absolutely recommend!

Small place but their buns are the best!! It's a bit expensive as buns are about $6 per bun but totally worth it. Great for those parties where you bring something to share. I'd totally recommend and do back here again.

Food tasted great, all the non-chinese options are delicious, the one with a bit of jalapeno has a good kick to it but it's not overbearing, the owner was very kind men's new her inventory well. She has a couple options, you can have your buns warmed up before heading out, make sure to eat them within 30 minutes. Or leave them unwarned and take them home. Also had a citrus and pomegranate drink very tasty.

We just LOVE when we get to treat ourselves to California Bun! The staff is always super friendly and welcoming. The restaurant is tidy and inviting. And our kids just love the wall of buns to choose from! We even had to stop by their booth at the Apricot Festival to fill up on some buns because they're so tasty! Their community involvement is impressive and the owners are so kind and hospitable. We will be back (a bunch)!

Food is tasty. It isn't going to fill you up but good for portion control.
Veggie Voom, El Sabroso and 🥚 & 🧀 are great as is. The Steak Sunrise needs a little BBQ sauce drizzle on top.
