After waiting such a long time, my partner and I finally got to visit dumpling shack and it did not disappoint at all!! We went around 3:30pm which was a perfect time since it wasnāt packed and we got greeted by a friendly employee as soon as we walked in! We got the menu, ordered, and received our food very fast! We ordered the pork xiao long bao, spicy shrimp and pork wontons, shrimp fried rice, and the shrimp & pork pan fried dumplings (not pictured). We enjoyed every single item we ordered, there was so much flavor and everything tasted amazing I would give it a solid rating of 9.5/10 and if Iām being honest Iād pick this place over din tai fung any day especially since itās more of a close & convenient drive than going all the way out to LA for some delicious food! š¤©š¤¤

The food is fabulous, but you can never order ahead to go because they don't answer the phone, so you end up waiting 20 minutes or more once you arrive.
Iām really disappointed in this place :/ I placed a pickup order and was so excited to try it out because of all the amazing reviews Iāve heard. First of all- there wasnāt any dumplings or wontons available to order⦠there was actually a big limitation on items to order from compared to what they have on their menu in person. Despite that I ordered a few popular items still excited. When my husband went to pickup they had messed up on our order Iām assuming because he waited over an hour plus the 40 minutes we already had waited before hand for us to be notified online that our order was āreadyā, which it wasnāt because like I said when he got there they said the order wasnāt ready and he waited 20/30ish minutes to ask them again and they gave him a confused look asked him for the name of our order and printed out our order ticket and just waited an additional 30 minutes for it to be ready. That in itself was super disappointing. When he got home we were very disappointed in the portion size for the price and the bbq pork boa was undercooked and still mush besides the bbq inside. For what we paid for it was highly disappointing and I wish I could get a refund because we couldnāt even finish the food⦠we both agreed it was the worst experience and food we have ever tried from a restaurant sadly :/

I'm a bit skeptical about Chinese restaurants in Ventura county but this one is pretty decent. While it's no Din Tai Fung, it's pretty decent for the drive if you live around here. They serve some dim sum dishes and the steam pork ribs is as good as NYC dim sum. The dumplings are decent, they have a more thicker dumpling skin style. And their address is (888), IYKYK.
They give you a menu and you circle with what you want. Perhaps they could put more pictures to correlate to the food so people know what they are ordering. Will definitely return. I went on a holiday weekend and by lunchtime, there was a wait.

The food here is SO good. Everything is very fresh. Itās an introverts dream because you can circle what you want.
Some of the best Chinese food Iāve ever had! We had the house fried rice, Bok Choy spicy, vegetable pan fried dumplings, soup dumplings, bbq pork buns, coconut balls, and egg tarts. Definitely recommend eating there if you can. The food is tastes best when itās fresh from the kitchen. Staff are friendly and helpful. Weāre very lucky to have this restaurant in Moorpark!

Ordered online for pick up. Said 30 min. Showed up at correct time and waited 30 more minutes. The āChicken Fried Riceā was actually steamed white rice with barely any egg or green onion. Had a decent amount of chicken but was very rubbery. The āBeef Udon Noodles looked and smelled great but it was surprisingly bland. The noodles were cooked well and had good texture. Only reason for the 2 stars on the food.

I came here during the holiday week with my daughter and had such a lovely experience.
Parking was super easy as it sits in a strip mall and there was plenty of parking. We ordered steam jumbo shrimp, pork bao, pork pan friend dumplings and hot tea and loved it all.

First time at this restaurant. Dim sum was delicious. Everything we ordered was delicious and well made. I grew up on Chinese food and this restaurant is excellent.

The Cavewoman had heard good things about this new modern-style Dim Sum house in nearby Moorpark. Since it doesnāt take much, if any, coaxing to get me to go for these delicious dumpling delights, we went last night.
We arrived right at the dinner hour and found ourselves a bit down the waitlist. Though, it went fairly quick and we were seated about 15 minutes later.
The menu offered most of the usual Dim Sum suspects, along with a variety of noodle and rice dishes. We opted for the Vegetable Spring Rolls, Steamed Pork Ribs, Sticky Rice, Shumai, Vegetable Buns, and Fried Sweet Potato Taro Balls. My wife added the Peach Green Tea while I chose the Tropical Fruit Tea.
Everything was amazing! Starting from the top, both the Spring Rolls and the Ribs may have been the best Iāve ever had. The Spring Rolls were crunchy and filled with a delicious vegetable filling that was crazy good, while the ribs were meaty, tender, and steamed in a world-class broth. The Sticky Rice was wrapped in a banana leaf, cooked perfectly, and had plenty of tasty pork filling. The Shumai may have been my favorite and is definitely the finest Iāve ever tried. Iām not usually a Chinese Bun fan. But, my veggie wife wanted to try them and I was pleasantly surprised. The Sweet Potato Balls were a great capper for the meal. While both teas were so refreshing and had the best Boba I have ever experienced.
The restaurant has the open feel of a traditional Dim Sum house, and though they donāt have the rolling carts full of steaming dishes, they do offer the same ambiance with all the controlled pandemonium and customer chatter filling the room.
I wouldnāt call this place cheap. But, itāll rival anything you can find in Monterey Park or Chinatown, without the hassle of driving there.
Highly recommend!

Visited with my family after this place was highly recommended by a friend, who claimed it was just as good as Din Tai Fungāif not better. Unfortunately, I have to disagree.
When we arrived, we put our name down and immediately asked about the wait time. We were told it would be about an hour, which surprised us, but we were okay with it since half of our party was still on the way. We decided to go next door for a drink while waiting. Not even 20 minutes later, I went back to check on our table and found out our name had already been called. We quickly finished our drinks and rushed back, only to wait an additional 20 minutes just to be seated. During that time, we tried getting someoneās attention multiple times, but no one acknowledged us.
Once seated, I attempted to speak with our waiter, but there was a significant language barrier, which made it very difficult to ask questions or clarify anything. We placed our order, and I will say the food came out very quickly, which was appreciated since we were starving.
As for the foodāit was okay. Not bad, but definitely not comparable to Din Tai Fung. To make matters worse, a couple of items arrived that we never ordered. We tried to let the waiter know, but we were completely ignored and ended up being charged for them anyway.
At the end of the meal, we asked for boxes and were ready to leave, but then the final frustration happened: while clearing the table, the waiter accidentally dropped chili oil on my white shoes. That was extremely upsetting and really sealed the experience for me.
Will I come back? Probably not.

This is my new go to for comfort food! Honestly, I think some of the reviews are a little rough. I had a good first impression of this place! I came in when it wasnāt too busy but still people dinning in. Was seated quickly and was served water immediately. The servers were super sweet and kind. I asked one of them their favorite dish and decided to order that as well as two other things and a drink. I ordered a lot for just myself but this is a place where you come with family and friends to SHARE food. Please donāt come here expecting all these big portions for one person, the dishes are made to share with others and portioned correctly. My food came out in less than 10 mins after ordering. The servers came once in a while to check on me which was perfect. This isnt LA (clearly since itās in Moorpark) but a good alternative if you want something similar to places in LA but canāt make the drive down.
The foodā¦i loved. The Spicy shrimp and pork wontons with udon noodles were to die for, mix before you eat for sure. It was sweet and spicy. The soup dumplings were comforting as well. The Jumbo Shrimp and Pork Shumai was recommended by the server and it was so so good and filling. Pair with chili oilā¦chefs kiss. Please be sure you try the sauce that goes with the soup dumplings, it compliments it very well. The Brown sugar milk tea was also a pleasant drink, the server asked how sweet i wanted it which was really nice.
One of the reviews says some of them donāt speak English like thatās an issue?! Wasnāt for meā¦we understood eachother just fine.
I can see how this place gets super busy and why people enjoy it so much, but I recommend you give it a try with friends and/or family! You can see the wonderful cooks as well making everything. So authentic, i loved.

Went with my family a party of 5 and everyone received their orders before me, kept trying to get the attention of a server as everyone was finishing their meals at the table while I hadnāt even been brought my starter let alone my entree, finally I went up to the front to ask if I could get the check aswell as my meal to go as my family had already finished eating. They apparently forgot to put my order in and made us pay for it to go and wait an extra half hour for it to be made.
The food is great but they barely speak English and attention to details are not their strong suit.
