Friendly atmosphere but uninspired pizza. Every slice fell apart and had way too much cheese. You'd need to fork / knife it but was too greasy for that. Mediocre food in general. They tried but missed the mark. There's a small arcade in the back. They're basically a few prizes away from being a full fledged Chuck E. Cheese's. But at least machines work there.

Got a pizza to go, typically their pizza is 5 star, this one was tasteless. Hopefully just an off day for the staff that put this one together. Most likely I’ll be back just due to limited options in Moraga.

We've been to Pennini's many times over the years and have always been happy with the quality of the pizza and wings. Both come with ample toppings, provide a decent variety of choices, and never disappoint. To be clear, this is not a fancy, gourmet pizza place, nor does it pretend to be. The verdict - it's perfect for what it aims to be, a locally owned pizzeria with no frills and good pizza. On occasion, we have tried other, non-pizza options on the menu. For example, the burger and fish and chips. In general, these are okay at best (2.5 stars). I'm not factoring this into my overall rating as this is a pizzeria and, at that, they are solid. We will be back.

Craving a piece of beef tonight and came across Pennini's prime rib special on Fridays and Saturdays. Since we have never been, it was time for a date night out at another locally owned restaurant. Easy seating as the place was more busy with pick up orders. Some locals having drinks and conversations at the bar were happening. I love places like this where you know the bartender and crew. Our waiter took our order and we got our orders with salads first. My house salad was really nice as it was a kale mix with large slivers of carrots and chunks of tomatoes and cucumbers. Hubby had a spinach salad for his main. Asked for shrimp but told that they were no longer available. Disappointing indeed. My prime rib came out and it was okay. The potato cake was really nice. Very unexpected seasonings and a crispy outside. This was the standout on the dish. They should make them into an appetizer like tater tots. They would be a hit! I like the fresh green beans as the veg. They weren't cooked to my liking as they were a bit al dented and under seasoned. Didn't know there was dessert until we looked at the board on our way out. My suggestion is to train the wait staff to remember to upsell. Waiter was fine. Because I'm critical, and I hope that owners actually read these reviews, I would like to see the staff wearing something branded, i.e., Tshirt or apron to look a bit more professional. I hear that the chicken wings are the best so this will be on our next trip back. Maybe some wings and a beer at the bar. Support the locals. Always give it a try because you never know when you will find your next favorite restaurant.
