Great food, I especially liked the breakfast burrito (you eat it with a fork and knife). It's street parking right in front of it and we ate outside, which was a little muddy but not bad. Service was excellent, we were sat quickly and were attended to well outside.

It's very much a small, old diner on the inside. The staff are nice but the food isn't great. My wife did not like her pancakes at all but they left them on the bill. I paid for them because we ordered them but thought that would have been a nice courtesy.

Really disappointing microcosm for modern Lamorinda life.Grumpy greedy boomer stationed at the “front desk”; clearly it’s his family property and he’s there if he wants to be to chat and “greet” people he knows.Prices are high for a greasy spoon. They hired immigrant labor (naturally) that is fantastic/generous/kind and incredibly hard working; but owners not interested in doing any real work (…or waking up 4am to make pancakes for customers) so he’s just gonna chat with the “regulars” and the rest of the old Boomers of the past.I think owner just there “for the craic” because he’s bored and has all the land and wants to make even more money in Lamorinda, from family-owned property and existing “restaurant”.So this “project” is to make more money from an old building (and feeds him when he’s hungry). They are partially using the “diner” for storage and other old furniture / family “heirlooms” ; lots of old Rooms so why not fill them full of stuff; classic Lamorinda “business” venture.

Ok so this is a time warp kinda place, I mean it's like stepping back in time to an old school greasy spoon breakfast joint. Daily specials and a standard regular lineup. It's filled with local regulars, a mix of bicyclists, families and walk ups.Food was spot on and service with a smile. I had the special " Monte Cristo"I'd definitely eat here again l.

It may look empty and closed from the outside BUT is it full of patrons indoors! Old vintage restaurant but love the mom and pop feel! Fast service and delicious hot food. Perfect for our bike ride stop!

We sat outside as we had dogs with us. Saw staff to take our order, drop off drinks and then with the food. Had to find someone for our check. Food was ok, nothing bad but nothing great. Had biscuits and gravy, the gravy was ok flavor. The buscuits tasted like they came from a can. Buttermilk pancakes eere very good.

Amazing food with good serving sizes. The service is also great- everyone is very friendly. The best thing about it is the ambience and calm environment of the outdoor seating. Gives the full Moraga experience!
Does not look like much from the outside where by the way are cosy outdoor dining tables. We went for brunch. Expect your staple brunch food served promptly and piping hot. I had the Greek omelette with just the right amount t of feta and fresh spinach my side of spiral rye was fine too. My oldest ordered a waffle and their eggs were cooked exactly as they wanted - that can also be said about the eggs on rhe Benedict - runny as they should be. The Hollandaise in the Benedict was not that tasty hence the 4 star. Service was efficient and super courteous.

The person who claimed this food was the best was exactly wrong. I ordered biscuits and gravy with sausage and eggs and OJ. One would easily assume that this would be the one dish a restaurant named 'Ranch House' could hardly get wrong. Call me corrected. The OJ was obviously from concentrate, easy to look past, what proved impossible to ignore was the fact that the biscuits themselves were store bought. I mean the ones that you 'pop' out of the can. For this horrendous opportunity I was allowed to pay a whopping $22 and change. Unless you were fed this food through a bottle at birth and know no better, heed my warning, STAY AWAY!!!
