A wonderful place to have dinner on a Friday night. Great food and service. Highly recommend it.
A modern chic ambience with pronounced background music. A few of the service staff were new and not quite up to speed with food delivery. Water glass refill often went unnoticed. Food overall was good quality and quantity. Wine selection by the glass was something to be desired. Also, single glass pours were poor. My guess would be 4 ounces at best. Would recommend to purchase a bottle or bring your own. However corkage fee is slightly high at $30 pb.
Great food. Interesting dishes. Lots of variety. Just really poor, inattentive service. It was our 2nd time there. Both times service was really poor for a nice dinner.
With Odeum it's ambiance exceeds standards as an elite restaurant aiming to make you feel you entered into a magical soothing upscale establishment. Their service is personal as they aim to make you feel special as they engage you with complimentary appetizers and at the end a drink to wind down to celebrate your visit. A wide selection of fine appetizers, custom-designed dinner courses to choose from, a definite place as a bucket list to experience for any occasion!
Been here about 8-10 times and this last time was the worst experience. Waiter was fine, attentive. Beyond scallops special that was delicious, rest of the food was blah (4 dips, spicy Cesar salad). I ordered one of my favorites (chicken and waffles) and it left me severely disappointed. Waffles were a little soft/soggy and chicken wasn't crispy. Also needed salt. Entree was slightly above room temp versus warm/hot. When I ordered a glass of red wine, it came back with a small pour. First time in my life at any restaurant I had to ask them to pour more. While we were dining (appx 830pm), the wait staff started bringing in some of the blue walk way lighting from outside which made us feel like we had to hurry. We also smelled cleaning chemicals they were using in the back while mopping—again while we were still dining and made the experience less than desirable. To cap the night, we got our leftovers in like a plastic Target gray bag. I'm not expecting a gold treasure chest but for the amount you pay at this place, the overall experience felt cheap. Unfortunately I feel like this is the beginning of the end of what previously used to be a local nice date night location :(
Last night I had an exceptional dining experience at Odeum - There were 4 of us and everything was perfect from start to finish. The food was beautifully composed, incredible flavers, service was warm and attentive and genuinely welcoming, which made the evening feel special. Most impressive is the owner/chef, who I believe is one of the best in the Bay Area. His mastery of technique, creativity, and commitment to quality shines thru every dish. We left thoroughly satisfied. Highly recommended.
A great place to gather with friends. And they had my favorite Nolet's gin which most places don't have. Food is excellent as is the service. I will be back there again in two weeks 😁
The food was great! However, we had a reservation for 7pm and didn't get sat until 7:40pm. We also had missed items we ordered that eventually had to be cancelled.
Amazing food, amazing service and fantastic ambiance. Chef Calisi is fantastic and so passionate about his food and it shows. Celebrated our son's birthday and they truly went above and beyond to make it special. Can't wait to go back again.
A lively neighborhood gem - every table was full, and the restaurant had a very festive vibe. Food presentation was great with generous portions. The crack bread was the standout and a must-order. The Norcino pizza was flavorful but a bit salty, and the radicchio salad was excellent. A couple of misses: our anniversary was noted in the reservation but not acknowledged, and the Spicy Ginger cocktail took an unusually long time to arrive, showing up just minutes before my meal was finished. Service was still very pleasant overall, and the energy of the place made for an enjoyable experience.

Absolutely wonderful seasoning of flavors in every bite! We each got something different- and loved our choices!! Chicken Parm was superb!! Pita bread - the best w/ the Qunitet!! If you haven't tried a Mediterranean cuisine- Odeum is the place to visit??
I've never posted any bad review on any restaurants before, but the experience from last night was the worst. I wanted to share so the chef/owner can see this. The restaurant had three different seatings for NYE, ours was the last at 9:45. We were not seated until ~10:15 due to the prev group was still there. Owner should have spaced out more time so new group didn't have to wait in the rain while waiting for the current dinners to finish up & leave. Once seated, we did not see anyone until 10-15 min later. We tried to understand as it was NY eve. Main issue was we were completely forgotten after being served with the first course. Until we flagged down our waitress, our main courses (3rd course) were brought out. I gently reminded our waitress that our second courses were not served. She said “OMG, they didn't bring you the second course?” Then immediately our second courses were brought out. There was no space on the table to place all these dishes. We couldn't decide what to eat first. Food was cold. Two filet mignon plate, 1 was undercooked, 1 was overcooked. Told my kids to just try to eat it, I never send the food back. However, one of the dishes, shrimp francese, was completely cold when my youngest son told me it was so soggy. I gently asked the waitress if she could ask the chef to make new shrimps only. She came back saying the chef/owner wanted to charge full price for the new dish. I had no choice but thought I pay for the whole 4 courses meal for all of my kids (same price as adults) for $600/4 ppl, at least they could offer to just redo the shrimps. My lobster dish was also cold. We ended up packing up most of our remaining dishes home (I didn't want to waste the food) The rest of the experience for NY eve there was ruined. Our table bill was almost $1k, thought that the owner should not be charging us for the shrimps redo due to lack of attentions, the quality of the food & services. I could see clearly he was busy attending a lady at the bar.
The carciofi, lobster and filet mignon were all top notch! The service was friendly, quick and attentive. New Year's Eve can be tough to navigate, but the staff pulled it off with panache!
I believe that good service is an essential part of good food, and unfortunately our recent experience at Odeum in Morgan Hill fell well short of that standard. My wife, two guests, and I dined there recently. We waited about 15–20 minutes just to place our order. We brought two bottles of wine, and while not a major issue, I had to open the first one myself because the server could not open it herself. We ordered appetizers (mushrooms and fries). The mushrooms arrived earlier, but the fries came out with the main courses and were very cold by the time they reached the table. The timing of the meal was completely disorganized. One steak and a branzino were delivered first, then about five minutes later the rest of the entrées arrived. Another five minutes after that, the salads were brought out. I asked the server where she expected to place the salads since the tables are very small, and more importantly, why they were arriving after the main courses. I asked them, in a not a nice way to return the salads and not charge us. Salads should clearly come before entrées. The branzino was good, but my New York steak was overcooked and disappointing. Overall, the food quality felt inconsistent, sometimes decent, sometimes not, which mirrors what we experienced that night. Service was genuinely poor and, from what I know, has continued to decline since the owner's daughter left. I had heard from others that the service had become an issue, but I didn't listen at the time. Now I understand why people are choosing not to return. Unfortunately, this is not a restaurant we will be going back to. Consistency and service matter, and Odeum no longer delivers either.
We had the crazy bread followed by the flash fried prawn which were delicious. That was followed by gnocchi, Salmon, rack of lamb, and the most incredible black cod ever. Service was impeccable.
