What a pleasant discovery! I finally found a good sushi spot in Morgan Hill. I visited Sushi Nara on my birthday after reading reviews of every Japanese restaurant in the area. This place stood out with no concerning reviews on Yelp, so I gave it a try—and I’m so glad I did.
From the moment we walked in, we were warmly welcomed. The restaurant is spacious, making it a great option for larger groups as well. The sushi was fresh and generously portioned—totally satisfying! The hamachi kama was surprisingly large and delicious.
The staff were kind and attentive, checking on us frequently. They were also thoughtful enough to bring out kid-friendly bowls, water cups, spoons, and forks. The kids’ menu is under $10 and offers a good amount of food.
Overall, I had a great experience at Sushi Nara. I’ll definitely be coming back next time I’m craving sushi!

I love this place, it's my first pick when I want to get sushi in the south bay. They always have really decent portion sizes for what you pay for and fish is very fresh.
Very disappointed about the quality of the food here. All the raw fish we ordered is not fresh at all. The texture is mushy and one type of them even tastes sour (didn’t remember it was tuna or yellowtail). Fortunately I did not experience food poisoning ?.

The staff was very friendly and courteous. The food was good and just the right serving size for all of us.
On a difficult day we were treated to a great lunch. The hamachi sushi was excellent. Same can be said for the salmon belly which was topped with real wasabi. Chef gave us some sort of seared salmon with tobiko and homemade sauce that was unreal. Hamachi kama finished us off. We managed to split mango mochi for dessert. Would go again there in a heartbeat!
