We split French meat pie and escargot. And a few hazy ipa’s. Staff so friendly and super clean. Only drag was 4 old Ducati riders doing nothing but bench racing of how fast they were. We past them. They rode like 4 old blind dogs.

The Management is super rude. It’s now a French restaurant. There used to be a trope about French customer service being some of the worst on earth, but from my experience all over France I never felt that way. After my dining experience here, I see where that trope comes from. The management was cold, careless, and disconnected. Bizarrely so, to the point where my husband and I thought the owner/server was acting. Like at Corvette diner when they try to be rude and it’s part of their whole stick to amuse you. But no, they were just that not nice. No humor or entertainment.
I asked the server if I can add avocado to my salad to which he responded as if I asked him if he can put caviar in my salad. “absolutely not, we do not have avocado here” he scolded me sternly. Alrighty then I’ll get a chicken sandwich please. He proceeds to bring me out a pulled pork sandwich instead. I told him I ordered chicken and I don’t eat pork. He rolled his eyes, grabbed the dish and walked away. He came back with the most sloppy, gross chicken sandwich I have seen in recent memory. The fries were so fried it hurt my stomach to eat them. The chicken looked like “chicken of the sea” that you would pull out of a can of cheap chicken, the tomato and lettuce were wilted & soggy.
Everything look like they pulled it out of a trashcan. I tried to force it down since we were kind of in a rush to move quickly, but I couldn’t do it. When we were paying our bill, we informed the server/owner of our experience. His response was “ That’s your opinion. We sell 1000 of these a day”…. Like OK just because you sell a lot of them doesn’t mean that they are good. Also, I doubt you have 1000 people coming by this sleepy mountain destination a day. Lol but Ok… needless to say I was severely disappointed because when this place was managed by other folks it was a cute place to stop and grab a bite. Never again!

I love this place. It’s an old cabin and has tremendous charm. The food is good. Service is a tad slow but if you know that and except it, it’s part of the vibe. Mountain town restaurant. Take it easy, relax and enjoy being up in the mountains. I will go back for sure!

Others that came in after us was served before we were, our meals were delivered at different times with the first person finishing before the others were served. One person's meals was never served we had to ask for it to be boxed to go. We had to ask twice for the meal and all the while it was sitting there waiting. We were rudely told they don't serve fast food.

My family of 5 adults and two young children stopped for a bite to eat after hiking. Others that came in AFTER we did was attended to before we were. After finally taking our order, our meals were served at different times , so drastic that the first person was done before the others were even served. Never did we get a refill even on water. AND ONE FAMILY MEMBER DIDN'T EVEN GET HER MEAL EVEN THOUGH WE WENT TO ASK FOR IT and we were told they don't serve fast food. The 2nd time we went up to ask for it was sitting there on the counter waiting to be served. We had to ask for the food to be put in a to go box as we had been sitting there for so long. When I went to pay all I was told was she didn't know why it was never served. Do yourself a favor and drive up the road to another restaurant.
Was pleasantly surprised to find a beyond burger with a gluten free bun in such a small place, this early on the PCT. Burger could’ve been better, but was nice enough and the fries were fantastic!
I ordered two eggs, potatoes, and a baguette. Specifically to enjoy a baguette with butter. The waitress said if I wanted my egg yolk runny and the white cooked to order it over medium. It came extremely well done, no runny yolk. The potatoes were great, but my baguette came as a piece of crustini toast:(... I will try this place again but will be sure to order differently. . There was no wait for a table, but we were very slow to be served. All in all, the view was great! A beautiful atmosphere to enjoy breakfast

Wow what a lovely surprise to find near my campground! I had a huge, special lunch. Highly recommend the beef bourguignon and French Cabernet Sauvignon. This place is worth a special trip — I’ll be back when I’m in the area.

If you go to this beautiful Mt. area called Mt. Laguna BRING your own expensive fine beer or wine find a place in the forest and enjoy yourself . I entered this place and asked to buy a beer and sit outside and was denied .. Numerous people have complained about the service and the owner is a snarky FRENCH guy...

Lovely cafe in a structure built in the 1940s in a log-cabin style. Apparently, it was a store when it opened but it was nicely renovated to suit the needs of a tavern. The foyer was filled with PCT hikers. Next to the entryway is a serene dining hall with lots of light and windows and a big screen TV showing sports. Fast and friendly service—one of the servers brought my dog water without asking. Homey decor and wood finishing all around. The burger I ordered was substantial and hit the spot and the fries were excellent.
Yes, it's a little pricey, but that's Southern California and I expected to pay what I did. I would recommend Pine House Cafe & Tavern to hikers and travelers in the area and I would come back in the evening to enjoy dinner and a beer. The Tiny House Block adjacent to the tavern sounds interesting.

After a day of hiking in Pine Valley it’s nice to be able to enjoy a really good burger at the end of the day. They offer a tasty beyond burger with a brioche bun with fries. I also got a cup of the tomato basil soup which was delicious!
Great burger, love the service. Prices are reasonable. Vegan burger hit the spot very well after a good hike.
I had a wonderful meal at the Pine House Cafe.
A small Caesar Salad (which was rather big) and a Croque Monsieur sandwich with fries. Enjoyed all very much. Highly recommend!
