My friend and I recently had an experience at this quaint, old-time saloon nestled among the majestic redwoods that truly was one for the books. There's an undeniable charm to the place that feels like stepping back in time, and it's immediately clear that this bar has seen its fair share of lively nights and colorful characters. Our bartender for the night, Bethany, was truly a character all on her own. Her energy was infectious and she kept the entire place lively and buzzing. There was a certain unique charm to her approach, and she managed to ensure every patron was feeling well-taken care of.I must also mention the great value for money that we received. The drink prices were surprisingly affordable, contributing to a fun night that didn’t break the bank. This definitely scored high points with us, as it allowed us to enjoy more of the exciting cocktail selection. All in all, I must say this was one of the most entertaining and enjoyable bar experiences I’ve ever had. If you’re looking for an evening filled with fun, laughter, and a spirited atmosphere, I highly recommend this place. Hats off to the staff, and especially to our extraordinary bartender who made our evening truly unforgettable. We’ll certainly be back! The place has a certain authenticity that you just don't find often enough these days. I highly recommend this saloon for anyone looking for a laid-back, fun time with a dash of unexpected charm.

We had an awesome night there where we were made to feel like locals. Thanks Brandi for awesome service! We loved the pickle shot though my friend doesn't remember that part of the night...

It’s gone down hill since Bill left R.I.P Good old times with good old friends on the Avenue of the Giants. can’t even watch the 49ers games when they advertise you can you can only watch games that they want you to watch.

Matt and his children were very nice, but after checking on we never saw him again. The rooms were clean but their was no TV after all, internet was spotty and slow. Carpets need cleaning. According to their website they were supposed to have breakfast, but no, you had to go across the street to the little market and find something. Place smelled of litter box and cats were running around. Place needs repair, which looks like their might trying to do, but get the impression they are having a hard time making a go of this place and would not be surprised if they have to sell. Sad because it has some charm and if they had the funds to fix it up it might be a great place to stay.

A truely nostalgic Inn nestled among the giant redwoods. The room was a good size, comfortable bed . Hot shower, cool getaway in the hottest week in California history! The Inn is in need of some repairs but hats off to Matthew as he is committed to not going into debt to manage them! The inn is family owned for over 100 years! It is the jewel of the Avenue Of The Giants! Oh, only disappointment was no breakfast was available. Hopefully it will return to complete a truly beautiful stay!

Matt and his kids are so down to earth-wonderful people! This charming inn is set in the most peaceful setting. The clean and large rooms look out at the giant redwood trees. This place is a must for anyone looking for a tranquil setting.

I reserved this site in February, for August, one night. When I arrived, nobody was there, but a note on the door saying call or text number. 1 Call and 3 texts unanswered. Pictures on web are deceiving. The place is in ill repair, outdoor furniture ready to collapse, entire inside smells like a cat litter box, decor was late 50’s grandma (musty smell) several cats roaming the yard. After talking to 2 parties who arrived earlier and had returned, stating they had the same problem of the host not being there for hours when they tried to check in. I left a note saying to cancel my reservation, and left to find another room 30 miles away. The host called me 20 minutes after I left, and stated “I’m here now”. When asked if he had read my note, he said yes, and I asked him if he expected me to return he said yes. Needless to say, I did not.

Not recommended!!! The current inn bears little resemblance to the one pictured on the outdated website. Paid for 3 nights in advance but only stayed 2. The bedroom was fine except for old soap that disintegrated when we opened the packet. Owner gave us a key and cell phone number for emergencies. Spiders in coffee cups next to undrinkable old coffee in pot. Kitchen in disarray with broken dishes on floor. Owner operated loud power tools on shrubbery from 5-8 pm while obviously upset and left loud music going in the inn until we called his cell and asked him to turn it down so we could sleep. We were the only guests but the No Vacancy sign was lit the whole time. Very sad.

We arrived early evening. Four huge-o pickups occupied the available parking. The place looked like a construction zone. We could locate NO one on the premises. Ultimately, we moved on to Miranda (about 17 miles farther south on CA-254) for our accommodation and dinner.

Very quaint Inn/B&B in the middle of the Avenue of the Giants. Not much in Myers Flat, but that was part of the appeal of the Inn. We've stayed at a couple of B&B's, and this one didn't disappoint. Built in 1864 (I think), still had all the charm of the period and over the decades. It was welcoming, clean, and the guests were all very nice. Great place to go to unplug and enjoy some of the most beautiful landscape you'll ever see.

We were here in 2016 and had a very good experience. Not so this time. The owner no longer provides breakfast, but the prices are still $200 a night. There is hot water for coffee or tea and access to the kitchen. The rooms are quaint and clean. But good luck finding someone if you need anything. The owner of the place will take your money upon check in, but then disappears almost completely. Sometimes he is holed up in his downstairs room with music playing, and other times presumably off the property completely. We needed refresher towels, and two of his daughters were there who provided them. They tried to find their father but had no luck. One time I got my key stuck in the door and luckily the son was there to help me, otherwise I would be left without help. Service was much better in 2016. This trip, at one point we were coming back from a hike, and a man came in to try to get a room, but there was literally no one to help him! I saw this gentleman at a restaurant later that night, and he said he waited around for about ten minutes with no one in sight. He guessed that the owner must not care very much about his inn if he is never there to check anyone in. Many times we heard the front desk phone ringing, but no one answered! This place could be a great success if only the owner was consistently there, or if he hired someone to help him run the place. I think he could make a fortune as well as provide a great place for people to stay ---- if only someone were there when needed. Also they now have four cats on the property, and unfortunately, when you enter the living room, it smells of cat urine. The location of the hotel is amazing, right on the Avenue of the Giants. The hotel itself is quaint and charming. Sad, it could be a great place with a little more staffing. Hopefully he will see the light and hire someone to run it for him, we would love to come back under better circumstances. I understand the hotel was built in 1915 by a gold prospector that made it rich and wanted to build an Inn. Lumberjacks and travelers stayed there. It shut down for many years but in the 90's was revitalized and reopened. It has a lot of history and is interesting. A great place to stay while passing through or visiting the Redwoods. I hope one day it will be everything it should.

The room was very clean and the bed was very comfy and the kids are very helpful. And the ghost said hi.
