Ever since moving to SoCal in 2018, I've been on the hunt for great coffee places to try. So believe me when I say Honu has the best coffee anywhere near LA. I have friends and family who visit from out of townand specifically request their beans. Not only that, but their staff is always incredibly warm and friendly.
If I could change anything, it would be: - A bit more space to hang out in the downstairs area - Honu, I love you, but please change your bagel supplier. All of your baked goods (especially the ham and cheese croissant!) are incredible, but the bagels are cafeteria quality (even though the cream cheese you serve with them is really great?). Just an idea!

Coffee was okay, nothing to write home about. Not really worth the price but its expected for a popular shop. The ceiling was kind of gross, the couch I sat on while waiting was unfortunately really uncomfortable - you could feel it was broken and springs were poking through. Service was really great, both ladies were very kind and professional. I don’t know if I would go and sit there to study but I would try their coffee again.

They literally ran out of food and only had pink sprinkled donuts and one croissant to offer. I’ve never been to a cafe that literally has no food to offer. It felt almost like I was living the Great Depression. The atmosphere sucks too, little to no room to sit and the upstairs is so hot. I went here in the winter I can’t imagine what it’s like in the summer. The only good thing was their coffee. I really hope they get their food thing fixed.

I had the nutty hawaiian and it was so delicious! I love studying in cafes so I went to try this place and they have an upstairs area where you can study and do work. It's super cute, however the lighting in there is kind of dark.

Charming, personal, lots of character. Love that. But don't bring a group. Nowhere to sit . We sat outside. It is comfortable but a little noisy outside. Just 4 feet from the parking lot.
Indoor has 1 chair and 1 small couch. So again, just don't bring a group. We were a group of 3, and I felt very cramped.
Other than that I loved the charm!

The coffee is SO good! I ordered the surfin honu and it was delicious. We tried to work from the shop on the 2nd floor but most of the outlets weren't working. Luckily had a full battery but would have stayed longer and maybe for more. There is indoor and outdoor seating and plenty of parking. Definitely check it out if you're a coffee fan.

Chai was a powdered sludge. Staff was polite enough but clearly irritated about the repeated requests to try to fix the drink.
Very cute inside. No prices listed, but our 3 drinks came to $21. Would try somewhere else instead next time.

Ordered two caramel lattes. It literally tasted like pure milk we couldn’t taste any espresso and no caramel was added.

Cute coffee shop! However, prices are listed no where on the menu, kind of had to ask the barista for every single menu item.. very much a deciding factor on what you get from places, would be nice to know beforehand instead of being stickershocked at the register. And was not much satisfied with the price of my regular size drink, but it was still a great drink. They have wifi, an upstairs sitting, area, and an overall great atmosphere!!
