Have been going here since they opened. I love this place! I only wish they were open longer, can't always make it within their hours of operation. I have never had a bad service experience here and they've always been very friendly. Place is very cute and the bread and drinks are amazing! I love their lavender latte and mango flip!

So delicious, so cute! Their sea salt matcha cold brew is my new favorite local coffee drink. My kids love the salt and butter bread, and the bear buns were great too. Stuffed with custard, chocolate, or red bean. It wasn't busy on a Friday at 9am, and service was great and friendly.

This place does Japanese bread really well and has good service. My son scarfs down everything he can when he the bread gets home, so get plenty of you have a family!

Every single pastry here is amazing! The sea salt matcha iced coffee is incredible! Both the sweet or salty pastries are very flavorful and fresh. Hurry! They sell out fast during the weekends.

Easily one of the best bakeries around. All the cream-filled pastries are delicious and not too sweet. The pastries themselves are butter and flakey. Service is always friendly.

I don’t think I could live in this city if the bakery left.

If you’re looking for a cute place to take photos and have mouthwatering pastries, this place is it! It’s a small and cozy place with a good variety of pastries to choose from. Some items include square croissants (which is quite difficult to make, hard to find at any other location), strawberry croissants (that has both an excellent visual appearance and excellent taste, also a popular menu item), breads with cute faces, savory pastries such as a pastry called bacon bacon, etc. This place is also really cheap for the quality of the items they serve there. Highly recommend!

Newhall is at the forefront of the neo-renaissance occurring in the Santa Clarita Valley and I, for one, am very grateful for it. We are poised, breathless, on the edge of civilization here, at last. One harbinger of the elegance that awaits us is The Loaf Bakery and Cafe. A glance at the photos here, much less actually visiting, and you realize the possibilities. Loaf could hold its own anywhere on earth -- it is that unique and exciting. It is a quiet excitement and one needs to overcome a few inadvertent barriers to fully enjoy this bakery. One of them is the fact that there is no line, no order or service, or queue indicated anywhere. People just come in and push in front of anyone that was waiting patiently, because it does take time to study what is in stock if this is your first time visiting, as it was mine. I find this curious because in Japan, there is a definite protocol for every moment you are awake. It has to be instituted here. Second, the menu online does not fully reflect the array of pastries you find in the store at any one moment, meaning that you would have a very hard time ordering unless you first make a reconnaissance flight, take extensive pictures while being jostled aside by Santa Claritans on a mission, apparently, to be first all the time, and then step back to make a list. I wasn't prepared for this ordeal so I just lept into the fray ordering quickly and hoping for the best. The staff are not particularly talky, partially because they are protecting all of us by being masked, and there are tall plexi sneezeguards that present another barrier, so asking questions is difficult. However, the goods, the prices, the portions are all exceptional and worth whatever trouble it takes to shop. There are also condiments and other treats to pick up, so, again, worth the visit. Nearby parking is good, the location is lovely and village-like (part of the Old Town Newhall initiative that I hope will spread like ground cover to the rest of the SC Valley) and there are other attractions to visit when you make the trek to Loaf. If there was an aggravating factor to my experience it was the pouring rain the day I picked. I will go back soon and see if all these wrinkles smooth out so I can sing praises to this rare gem so close to my home.
