Great food and always good service. My only wish is that they would improve the salad. All iceberg lettuce, ugh!
A friend recommended this restaurant, and the food was just as they described. This was the best filet mignon I have ever had. The meat was served exactly as I requested. I'll be back soon
Both my husband and I ordered the “Spencer” ribeye steaks. My husband ordered the 16 oz and I ordered the 8 oz. My husband's ribeye came out as ordered (and it was delicious) but for some reason I was served an 8 oz sirloin steak. I thought maybe our waiter mis-heard me. So I ate half the steak. When our bill arrived, she charged us for two ribeyes. I pointed out the sirloin next to the ribeye in our to-go box. She said no, I was wrong. “That is a ribeye, yes smaller, and they cut it thicker”. I should have asked for the manager, but was too upset and wanted to leave. We are on vacation from Wyoming and specifically made our way to Jocko's. I bragged to my husband that Jocko's was worth the trip since I had been coming there since the late 1960's. I guess I could not trust my lying eyes. We won't be back.
Still great, drove over 100 miles out of our way home to go to Jocko's. Filet was tender, cooked perfect and with that great Santa Maria smoke flavor. Miss the celery but the pickles are delicious. Only negative was it was a little over salted/seasoned, didn't ruin it but it was saltier then usual. Watching the prep guy, he was heavy handed with the seasoning on all the steaks.
Had a great first time experience at Jocko's. I appreciate how casual the ambience was and was seated immediately on a Thursday evening with reservations. Our server was friendly, professional and gave great energy. Our steak and beef ribs were well seasoned and tasted great! I appreciate the sides and the ice cream at the end of the meal. Definitely will come back to try other entrees!
Celebrated on Sunday at 2 pm a 91st birthday. We ordered 2 small Spencer's medium rare with baked potatoes. Both steaks were PERFECTLY cooked and extremely tender. Our server, Jake T, was very solicitous and kind. Another great dinner at my favorite restaurant.
We just keep going to Jocko's. Sweatbreads and Spencers like nowhere else in the universe. Booking system became way better in the last 2-3 years.
Best Steaks ! Must go place if you are in central coast. We plan our central coast trip to make sure we go to Jocko and then take a few steak home as well
It's a really nice pace for being in the middle of nowhere, great steaks, too many fry's. Come hungry and they will not disappoint.
The food was great as usual. No surprises there. Our guests were impressed and enjoyed their food. The waitress seemed a bit distracted or maybe was caring for too many tables. This is abnormal for Jocko's. Weather may have played a part. Rain might have impacted cooking time on steaks, since grills are partially outside.

Great local place to go with friends. We split a dinner (steak - ribeye) friends split pork chops. Both excellent. Server was great and attentive. Would recommend this restaurant as a must do when in the area. Great history!
We had reservations and we're seated right away. We have been going to this restaurant for over 20 years. The service was great. The drinks are great. Bread, beans, and baked potatoes were really good. We ordered the crab legs and we should have returned them to the kitchen. They were overcooked, dried out, and not fresh. Tasted really fishy and not fresh. We have had these over the last 20 years and they always had the best ones in the county. The quality of the food just isnt good. Really disappointing as a long term customer. Sad really. I wont be ordering that ever again. My cousin had the jockos dip and she loved it. Hamburgers are always good. Please quit bbqing the crab legs. They are all dried out and taste burnt.
We've been treating ourselves to the Jocko's experience for 30 years. Although the cost of the experience is higher now, it's still worth the quality of food and great service that has been consistently delivered.
