Arrived Saturday at 4 pm. Everything was closed. Not a sign or explanation as to why they were closed, just a sign that said closed. Granted this place is only like 4 buildings... but still.Would have liked to try the place, but based off all the cockroach comments on here, perhaps I dodged a bullet.I like to travel to little unknown spots, but Nipton, CA is not one I would like recommend to anyone.Maybe in the future they can be a fun little place to stop at.

I’ve previously heard about this cafe from a friend who enjoyed the waffles after removing the hair, and pushing the dead flies off of the waffles. They said they use dead flies as flavor apparently. Visiting the place myself, the owners and staff had no masks on, and as someone who’s immunocompromised it really offended me considering COVID. They laughed at the mask I was wearing and shoved me to my table and didn’t help me for two hours. After ordering my food and finishing, they punted me out the door, and I find that while I was eating they decided to trash my car in the disabled spot, because they hate the disabled. After wrecking my car, they called the towing company to drag the now trashed metal cube to the junkyard in hopes I may never drive and park in a disabled spot.

Former employee tells it all. DO NOT EAT HERE! There are cockroach nest in the walls of the cafe. I pleaded with the owners to do a real extermination but they refused because the place is broke. Don't believe me? Just look behind the beer cooler or in the dish room. I came in ever morning to cockroaches all over the kitchen counters and dishes. This is not the chefs fault, they have all tried to work with the impossible owners but they only care about a days profit. The food might be decent, but you for sure don't wanna know where it came from or how long they've been trying to get rid of the rotting beef in your burger.

If you can find it...definitely go. This is a true gem in the desert. They have maximized the space they have. The ordering is a little slow, but once you receive tu your food, you will be glad you waited.

I frequent this special restaurant every couple of days because I love the special atmosphere that is outline this place. The staff is very loving and qualified. The service is certainly efficient. Also, the food they prepare is great. I came more than once and I was always joyful. The pay is modest. I highly suggest this place to to all.

Keep in mind this restaurant is not in a populated area; in fact it is pretty desolate. Food: The food was delicious with great flavor. Personally, I’d recommend the truffle burger. This place also offers a vegetarian patty. Service: Worker was very nice and was able to suggest some vegetarian options. Price: On the pricy end with around $65 for four meals. Atmosphere: Love the environment! Great for families or for hanging out with friends. Thanks Whistle Stop Cafe for the great experience :)
