I asked for recommendations. He gets frustrated and hangs up the phone in my face . Who can eat food made by individuals with such nasty energy , truth is that energy goes in the food as well .There’s no way I will eat food from a place where customer service would not even recommend something that they specialize in specifically. If you’re awesome at every dish and every plate on the menu, that’s terrific, but this is not JITLADA in Hollywood. That has the best food in Southern California. Everyone make sure you go there and try that food. You will never eat at this place ever again.. the customer service is horrible. I called to ask about recommendations because my family and I have not eaten here before. Thank you for saving us the trip. Everyone make sure you go to Hollywood for good Thai Food and the best experience along with phenomenal customer service!

We did a Postmate delivery. I have to say that this was one of the worst Thai food I ate. Pad see ew was so bland. The calamari was rubbery at best. I will never order food from this restaurant ever.

Yummy eats for takeout times two! I've been becoming an instant fan of Barn Rau... Located at the east end of the Vallarta Supermarket Plaza of Oxnard Street and Cleon Avenue, right next to Ramen Izakaya - North Hollywood. With their impressive menu of tasty Thai food for all, kosher, pescatarian vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, they've got a little something for all! And all are definitely welcome. The vegan menu and options are abundant. The flavor is solid and the portions are portionful! The veggie spring rolls my first time ordering were a little more crispy, but still very nom nom. It's fresh, halal, and made with valley flare as well as care! Craving them on a Wednesday night (which is the only day of the week they're not open). I've physically been by but yet to stop inside... Hoping to change that soon (planning a meet up with friends), but nothing beats good delivery! Barn Rau doesn't have many windows so it's hard to get a sense of what the full vibe is like especially for dining inside in 2024. The outside has has some updated paint in the last few years that makes it and the neighboring establishments look nicer. Typically Barn Rau Thai Halal is serving up great dishes from around 530/6PM until late night 2/230AM most of the week (or until midnight on Tuesdays). Plenty of parking the street and some close by in the shared parking lot.

This has been one of the most disappointing visits. I order the chicken corn soup Barn Rau and the customer service was horrible. I hate to make it an issue on race but I notice being the only black person there the difference in my treatment was very noticeable. The lady at the window was rude. There was other people there and the way they spoke to them was miles different from how I was treated. I was told to hurry up, why am I taking so long I'm only going to order chicken anyway. If you are POC stay away. They don't want to your support. There is another place down the street called Amazing Thai Cuisine I highly recommend taking your business there. Barn Rau does not deserve your business

Decided to stop here as my last dinner in LA. Big mistake. First off, when I got there I saw it's not a restaurant. It's a kitchen with a window where you pickup food. They refused to take order over the phone. Only online. When I got there, there was a woman working the window. I asked for an extra plastic box as I needed this for the food. She said we don't have that. I can see it right behind her. I then ask for an extra styrofoam box and this she also says we don't have that, which I can see right behind her. They lie about what they have and who knows what else. Bad service, bad staff, food was even below average! Regret going here for my last dinner in LA. Do better!

I order from here all of the time (unfortunately, on the delivery apps, DoorDash and Grubhub, which are the most disappointing part). They are open pretty late, which is awesome for anyone who doesn't keep "normal" hours. I am happy to have the opportunity to leave this review here. Previously, I mainly ordered from here when I was in the mood for Pad See Ew. I have ordered that many times, as well as the Crab Rangoon. I order my Pad See Ew without the cabbage (personal preference, I've never been a fan of cabbage, just sharing this in case it has an effect on the result). I also request a lot of sauce, because the noodles tend to absorb it in transit and it gets really dry by the time it arrives otherwise. It has been a frequent order of mine for a while, when ordering from here. I have tried a fair amount of others in the area, but prefer theirs out of the ones I've tried so far (some have been so bad that I actually could not eat them). veStation, although vegan (I am not), was always my favorite in the past, but they unfortunately started becoming inconsistent for delivery. Their Crab Rangoon is actually not my favorite, but not due to taste. I usually like mine with a bit more crunch to it. It may just be due to the transit in the type of containers used. I don't know. But, I do know that I do still enjoy it.Recently, I have been ordering the Yellow Curry and the side of steamed vegetables. For those interested, the steamed vegetable are quite literally plain, unseasoned steamed vegetables. I actually add them to my curry, because when I first had yellow curry, it was from a vegan restaurant and came that way... and I like the extra veggies. It is perfect for that! I love Yellow Curry, but I am always worried when ordering from a new place. I like spicy food, but I don't like food that is spicy just to be spicy. I wrote a few things in the "special instructions" that prompted the store to call me to clarify. I am so happy that happened! Not only was it because they actually read and follow special instructions, but they actually care enough to make sure that expectations are managed and met for their customers. It was my first time interacting with them, after eating their food so often (it is funny how that happens these days). The woman I spoke to listened to what I was concerned about and clearly and directly explained things to me regarding their dishes and preparation. She answered all of my questions and when I received my order, it was delicious! This actually happened twice, with separate orders. There are certain things I cannot eat (some things that I just do not eat) and I am often left frustrated due to restaurants preparing my meals incorrectly (ignoring or not addressing modifications or instructions, including allergy alerts). My experiences with this restaurant have been wonderful! If you are someone who gets anxiety ordering your food (especially from new places), you understand how important this is. They made me comfortable ordering from them (and now I know exactly what to type in the special instructions).I have read a few other reviews. I have to say that I am surprised by the ones complaining about the woman in the store. I wasn't there and we all have "off" days, so maybe that is what happened. Maybe she was direct and they took this as her being short with them and it escalated? Maybe they were requesting something that was not an option and they did not like being told no (we all have that one friend... if you don't, well... your friends do, haha)? Maybe it is because I am from New York, so I am a pretty direct person myself, but she was kind and patient and very clear. She listened to my preferences, clearly gave me the options available and explained realistically what I would receive. Then, sent me delicious food prepared exactly the way I was hoping, and it has been that way ever since!

I had a craving for pad see ew. I have been eating this almost my whole life.I ordered it from Grub Hub and was very excited. It was soooooo sour. I thought maybe there was lemon or lemon grass in it... or worse, maybe it had spoiled.I called the restaurant to ask if there was lemon or lemon grass in it. (The phone connection was very bad and it was hard to communicate. _ They said no, which made me worried that something in the dish had spoiled. The lady got upset and explained that there is vinegar in Pad See Ew. This is true. Pad See Ew does use vinegar, but this was SUPER sour. She said she's never had a complaint about this. So here is the first complaint, I guess. If you like very sour noodles, then maybe you will like their pad see ew. I hope they order pad see ew from other restaurants to see how theirs compares.I was going to give one star, but I bumped it up to 2 because I enjoyed the mango cheesecake.
