One of the worst restaurants in terms of customer service I’ve ever seen. I waited 10 minutes to be acknowledged in a non-busy time period (1 person in front of me). After I mentioned my name for pickup, they proceeded to actually make the order….DoorDash said it was ready. Now, the food. Very bland. Having lived in the south for a decade this was extremely disappointing. The brisket was terrible. The sauce absolutely dreadful. LA is pretty bad at BBQ in general but this takes the cake.Overall, don’t go.
REVIEW TIME:I have travel every inch of Southern California in search of Soul Food that can satify the country boy in me.After 4 years I have found it.The thickness and texture of the grits are perfect. The Smoked Chicken is SMOKY GOODNESS.I bit 1 rib threw is down, because I felt they almost stole my recipe. HA! Pick that rib up & ENJOYED!THERE ARE ANGELS ON THEIR WAY TO DELIVER GREAT BLESSINGS UPON THIS FAMILY OWNER BUSINESS. I PROFESS THIS.THIS IS AUTHENTIC SOUL FOOD DESERVING OF 5 STARS.
Placed an order for delivery. When the order eventually showed up, it was missing one of the main components. I called and the person who took my call said they were out and that it would be deducted from the total. It would have been appreciated if someone could have called to let me know that they were out and if there was something else I would like in its place. Best part is I didn't see the amount deducted from the total charged. Lesson learned. This place has potential, but I won't be returning.
Manager Jessica was very professional and had Great supporting staff with delicious menu across the board. I personally enjoyed the well glazed BBQ ribs, side order of greens along with the Pinto Beans & Rice!!
The staff and customer service here is amazing, they're very friendly and inviting. Unfortunately the barbecue is just okay there's nothing great about it.
Do Not waist your money!!!!! I don’t even write reviews but I had to on this one. I got out in the pouring down rain to go get this food the bake beans was hard taste like sweet chili bake beans ewwwww, the Macaroni and cheese was extremely DRY, the greens was bazaar the only thing I did like was the ribs, they are good and tender oh yeah the corn bread was good but them sides they got to do better!!!!!! I really want my $25 dollars back it was so terrible.
I've been back and forth past this place for years but never stopped in, and I'm sad I didn't sooner. Unfortunately there's no dining area, save for a lone wooden table outside the front next to the parking lot with maybe 5 or 6 chairs around it (most likely solely for waiting while your food is made). So, don't come expecting a dine-in experience, but don't let that turn you off one bit.I ordered the 3-piece Smokehouse Chicken (I got dark meat only), a side of Mac N Cheese, and sweet tea. Very fairly priced, I might add! I only had to wait maybe 10 minutes to get my food. The chicken was still hot, freshly cooked. I always taste cooked meat first before adding any sauce to get it's true flavor, and this was fantastic. The skin was crispy, perfectly brown and charred, but the meat was still juicy. Delicious smoky bbq flavor, I could have eaten it alone. Adding the bbq sauce was an extra level of delight. Smoky flavor with the right amount of spice and faint sweetness. Putting them together felt like I was transported across time and across state lines, immersed in a pristine, outdoor southern bbq setting. The sun, the landscape, the friends and family and neighbors, all intertwined with the delicious smell and flavor of an outdoor fire cooking everything to perfection. The Mac N Cheese was delicious on its own, but I added what little bbq sauce I had left and brought it up another notch, as well.It came with a jalapeño cornbread muffin/roll, which isn't really my preference style for cornbread, but it was still good. I like sweet cornbread but, hey, it's all good though I would love to see an option for one or the other. It would also be great if they could ditch the parking lot and make it a seating area to allow a dining experience.Whatever you do, though, make sure you stop in and check out this place. I don't see how you could be disappointed.
Found this on gmaps. Signage is horrible, wasn't sure I was walking in the right place until the blastwave of deliciousness hit my senses.I ordered the 1/2 lb brisket and the shrimp and grits. Shrimp and grits is a yummy creamy sauce slathered on corn grits (similar to mash potatoes) with the perfect shrimp placed decoratively around the bowl. Very hearty meal. The portion size is large, you could easily split that between two. With only one napkin I wore the sauce home on my epic beard. Brisket was wonderfully smoked. The BBQ sauce. Yes the BBQ sauce what can I say. It has the unusual ability to change multiple flavor profiles. I think I will have to study it a few more times.Worth the visit and the price. No, I didn't get photos. I promptly devoured it in the motorized vehicle.
Everything I had today was tasty. Haven’t been here in over 2 years. Tidy I got Mac and cheese, the mixed greens… a little smoky taste to it… but fine. The red beans and rice had great flavor, and my gumbo had a lil kick to it. But let’s talk about this Sorrel drink. It is soo good I had to go back and look at what was in it. The hibiscus has a sweet, tart flavor but with spice… like clove or cinnamon… almost like a hibiscus cold chai. That’s what made me say let me leave a review. I will be tasting the peach cobbler later. Hope this helps. Found my little combo☺️
This was an unexpected drive by discovery and I was not disappointed. I had a half rack of the ribs and a cup of gumbo and I enjoyed them both. While they have a few tables outside, this is more of a takeout or delivery place.I need up because I didn't see the Friday Fish Fry deal, so vote I'll have to go back on another Friday for that. ?

Saw this place the night before.. Creole catfish special $21.99 3 pieces, thin, breaded, fried came with Cajun FF, 2 hushpuppies(really good), and Cole slaw(not bad)-wasn't a fan of thesauce that came with it. Would have been nice if they gave you some lemon and hot sauce. Got sides of red beans(good) and southern greens(OK, slightly bitter). Desert was buttermilk pie $4.50 I think(really good, 1st time ever trying it). (Side note- Walmart in Porter Ranch has a whole buttermilk pie, Patti LaBelle brand $7, a slight bit less sweet but also very good.Following week ordered delivery 16 Oz Gumbo (pretty good), mac n chees(really good) shrimp and grits ( grits good, plain boiled shrimp not seasoned, description says comes with remoulade but it was a weak flavored broth)
Been wanting to try this place for a while finally was able to do it for lunch there is no dine-in only take out the order in advance but the food was delicious we had chicken and a cup of Gumbo mac and cheese and peach cobbler the peach cobbler was a lot different it was lacking peaches if I'm eating peach cobbler I want peaches peaches peaches but other than that oh and they have some type of mixed that's really really good if you're ever in North Hollywood and you get a chance please stop by and check them out
Please bare with me, I'm giving 3 stars because I just hope they had a bad prep day and need a new cook. Here goes:The ribs were more bone than meat, chewy, and looked like they came from a BIG MAN frozen dinner (the sauce was good tho), the mac and cheese was NOT a vibe (tasted spoiled and more like a macaroni salad then typical mac and cheese), the jalapeno corn muffin had great flavor but was so dry it was like eating gravel, and the shrimp and grits w/added cheese was a strange experience. The shrimp was cold in the middle, the grits werent done all the way and tons of clumps and the little sprinkles of cheese on top were set under this weird soup (which I would totally buy separately, great flavor) that was laddled on top of everything, atleast 1.5 cup worth. The only saving graces were the AMAZING peach cobbler and the sweet tea. The cobbler has like this all spice cakey texture on top. It was stellar. And the tea was a great balance of refreshing and sweet. Id come back for just those two. I gave the rest of my food away. I really wanted it to be better than what it was today. I used to come here for their blackened shrimp and hush puppies. They no longer carry either.?
This place is a find. I felt good there and enjoyed the delicious smoked brisket sandwich on one of the picnic tables .
Brisket is cut way too thin, as a result its dry A.F. however it has a perfect smoke ring and the flavor would have been good if it didnt suck all the moisture out of my mouth on contactThe bbq sauce is very good and the staff is friendly and the service is good
