I have been looking for a Cape Verdian restaurant in LA for a long time and they satisfied my hunger. The Katxupa was bomb. Had a good spicy taste. We need more Cape Verdian food in LA!!

The food is amazing! Never had Cape Verdian food before but I will again. Steak and tuna are crazy!! June and his kitchen were so welcoming and kind. The churros will blow your mind! Definitely coming back

?? CAPE VERDEExcerpt from Eat the World Los Angeles:You will also want to try katxupa ($18), the national dish of Cape Verde. This is the spelling in Cape Verdean creole, the oldest still spoken creole language in the world! Often you will see it spelled cachupa in Portuguese. The stew is made up of at least two types of beans, hominy, cassava, sweet potatoes, collard greens and cabbage, and that is before adding chorizo, pork ribs and belly, and Portuguese linguiça. As you can imagine, it is a hearty dish and the portion could fill up just about any one person.

A piece of home right here in California. I’m loving life. I live to far to pick up but that hefty Uber cost is so worth it. From the Katchupa, to the pastel, now the bacalhau a natas is next level great. Let’s talk about the fun, sweet staff who clearly love what they do and it shows in the way they focus on the marketing to attract people of all walks of life. Makes me proud to promote them to my friends and what a great way to show our fun Cape-Verdean flavor. I am a happy girl. To this whole team, from the chef to the marketing team, to the whole friendly staff, thank you for the ?? excellence.

The food is good, but if you’re from Cabo verde you know pastels are cheap & around $1 each no more than $2! VERY expensive for small portions.

Cape Green has done the impossible—it’s brought the “morabeza” of Cape Verde and the island of Fogo to Los Angeles. The food is incredible and I love that the culture of such a magical place is being shared here. They even include a QR code that links to a playlist so you can vibe to the sounds of Cape Verdean artists like Cesaria Evora, Lura and Mayra Andrade while you eat the unique soul food of catxupa and other mouth-watering traditional dishes. Sabi sabi — thank you for bringing this gem to LA!!

From the easy ordering system, customer service and food, I had an amazing experience and can’t stop talking about it. I ordered the red wine steak and it was unreal. Could cut it with a fork. Also ordered the coxinha de carne and frango (beef and chicken fritters) which were unreal (so good!) with the home made hot sauce. Overall experience was amazing and so nice to have food from my country in SoCal. Drove 2 hours from San Diego specifically to order from there!
