If you are Dominican and live on the east coast or someday like me go from NJ or NY or any state to California I recommend this 100% Dominican restaurant I drove twice more than an hour to eat not only the rice and the beans the chimi Ugh, tremendously delicious, the real chimi as it is made in the Dominican capital, really good food, thank you, they saved me those days when I was visiting California, the service was excellent.

Great food, clean restaurant, and great service. Food was delicious. Will absolutely be coming back.
We had the queso frito, moro negro, and chicken Sanata. Came with a potato and beet salad (very light and tasty) and fried plantains. Got a guava juice with the dinner special. All delicious.
Vegetarian options: Not a lot of vegan options, but some veg/pesc options.
Kid-friendliness: Would bring children here.
Wheelchair accessibility: Very accessible.

They are not worthy of carrying the badge of being a Dominican restaurant, they ordered the Moro de requete pigeon peas and the black pigeon peas, the pork tasted like nothing and the sour Russian salad was heated, the fried foods and the Coca-Cola only had their original flavor, The pigeon peas were black from being heated so much, the fried chicken that my partner ordered looked like cardboard, so dry and poorly heated, and to top it all off, the rice they serve you, counting the grains, is a terrible place to eat. I regret that they have the name Dominican, it's a shame... ….

Nestled in the heart of Los Angeles, El Bacano is a delightful gem that brings the vibrant flavors of Dominican cuisine to the West Coast. As soon as you step inside, the warm ambiance and colorful decor evoke a sense of home and hospitality.
The menu is a mouthwatering journey through traditional Dominican dishes. The *Mangu* (mashed plantains) served with pickled red onions is a must-try, perfectly creamy and flavorful. The *Sancocho*, a hearty stew, is rich and comforting, filled with tender meats and root vegetables.
Service at El Bacano is friendly and attentive, making diners feel welcomed right from the start. The staff is knowledgeable and eager to recommend dishes or share the stories behind them, enhancing the dining experience.
Overall, El Bacano is a fantastic spot for anyone looking to experience authentic Dominican food in a cozy and inviting atmosphere. Highly recommended for both Dominican cuisine enthusiasts and newcomers alike!

I was so excited to have found Dominican food in LA. I'm 100% Dominican ?? so I know about authentic flavors. I ordered a bunch of things. I got the bacalao with white rice. I was not impressed. It was not flavor full at all. Just cubes of bacalao tossed in red peppers. It was more peppers than fish which is disappointing. I also ordered el Pollo provocon. It was dry and flavorless. Which this is typically an extremely flavorful dish. I was so sad. I also ordered empanadas of ham and cheese. It was dry and just did not hit the spot. They give extremely small portions of rice which I found absolutely ridiculous since that's not how we Dominicans serve our food. I also ordered the sancocho and the meat inside tasted old and gave my friend a stomach ache. I definitely will not be going back here. This is my honest review. As much hope as I had going here, it was simply not a good experience. They need new cooks asap!!!!

I am deeply disappointed with my experience at this restaurant. I arrived with my service animal, which is essential for my health and well-being, and I was denied service. It is unacceptable that in the 21st century, there are still establishments that do not respect the laws and rights of people with disabilities.
The staff showed no empathy or willingness to understand my situation. I felt discriminated against and devalued as a customer and as a person. I cannot recommend this place to anyone, especially those of us who rely on service animals. I hope the restaurant becomes aware of its mistake and trains its staff to prevent others from going through such an unpleasant and humiliating experience as mine.

Almost pulled out of LA Fitness parking lot and saw this sign. I’ve had Dominican food at my Dominican friend’s house. This tasted just as homemade and authentic.
I cannot tell you how much flavor the food has here. I would eat here everyday if I lived in NoHo!
The food came out quickly and it was super fresh.
The mango drink tastes like mango and not those hard California mangos I mean real mango like the ones I grew up eating in Florida.
They have a huge menu and I plan on visiting here again once I’m at the NoHo gym again.
Vegetarian options: Lots of veggie options!
Parking: Tons of parking!
Wheelchair accessibility: Very wheelchair accessible.

Finally some good, authentic Dominican food in LA. This place is on par with any spot in NYC (adjusted to LA prices), and would def remind anyone of their family’s cooking. Definitely coming back
