We've been looking for authentic puerto Rican food in LA and finally found one. We started with the homemade tamarind juice, so good. The appetizer sampler was great. The mofongo with pernil and tostones were enough for 2 people so we had plenty of leftovers to take home. The garlicky smell of the mofongo lingered in my car after my friends left it in there while we shopped and that's a lingering smell which we didn't mind at all. We also ordered carne frita...
I haven't been in many years and was pleasantly surprised by the new specials on the menu. Adding upscale seafood was a very smart idea and definitely changes the type of occasion one would consider going there. The lobster mofongo was absolute perfection.
When we visit LA we always make sure to eat here. The best Puerto Rican restaurant. Food is authentic and the people that work here are awesome. Always parking in the front. The prices are fair. Trust me, you won't be disappointed.
