I've eaten here a few times, and to be honest, it's not my to go to spot to eat Mexican food. They charge cash only, it's 2024 everyone is using apply pay now a days so it's a bit inconvenient for most people. It's always empty and the food is not really all that.

If you want a quick, cheap, no grills and delicious, street style taco fix on this side of the border in NoHo, Sandy's is your place. Buche, cabeza, tripas, al pastor, you name it, they probably have it. I usually get those three and it sets me back $15 for 7 tacos. They are not that big so depending on your appetite, you might need more. I usually eat that in 2 servings. Oh btw, "cash" only!

Everything was going along just fine, ordered two burritos for myself and a friend and and a large horchata for my friend and paid for the meal para aqui. Just under $20. Who knows how the food tasted because I asked for a cup of water and they told me they don't give out water I had to buy a bottle of water. This is not illegal but it should be. In my almost 50 years of living in Los Angeles and going to restaurants it's only happened one other time. So those are two Mexican restaurants that I will never go to again including this one. Just plain estupido.

Tried Sandy's tacos a few times for their tortas chilangas. I wasn't too impressed. I may be biased being a chilanga myself. Tried them again recently because someone had mentioned their tacos were good. We got 3 orders of tacos de papa. And a couple of tacos de asada and al pastor. All 3 orders of tacos de papa turned out to be chicken. I'm not vegetarian or vegan, but if I were, this would have been upsetting. That being said, they were delicious, and I will be ordering them again. The tacos the al pastor were good. It could have used more seasoning for the amount of tortilla. I took a tortilla out to enjoy the al pastor. The asada tacos were not good. The meat was dry, like crunchy dry, like if beef jerky was fried dry. It was not the jam and could eat the one bite I took. Maybe it was an off day, we all have those. And like I said, I will be ordering the fried chicken tacos again. I will also give the tacos a second try just to be fair.

I ordered 2 Carne Asada tacos and rice. The rice was half cooked, the meat was dry and the salsa was too sour. Not my kind of food.But the service was good.Ambience, was only 1 customer maybe because it was close to the closing time.
