Such an adorable place to eat! We got the spaghetti and meatballs. It had a strong fake smoke flavor that was so weird. It just wasn't good. The garlic knots and Peach's cake were enjoyable though.

The vibes here are soo cute! I love it. The food is not bad and tastes actually pretty good. Prices are very expensive though for the amount you get but it’s a must try for the character design and vibes!

Toadstool Cafe is more about the experience than the food, and it’s important to set expectations before coming.
The restaurant works like a fast-casual setup — you order first, then take a seat, and the food is brought out to you. It’s extremely popular, so reservations are highly recommended; otherwise, it can be very hard to get in.
The food itself leans heavily toward a pre-made, theme-park style. Everything looks very cute and well-designed, but flavor-wise it’s pretty average. Most dishes are quite heavy and overly seasoned — I’d say about 80% of the menu feels more about visual appeal than balanced taste. Overall, the value for the price is on the lower side, though that’s somewhat expected inside a theme park.
That said, the atmosphere is fantastic. The décor is immersive, playful, and beautifully themed. There are also interactive elements using the Mario wristband, which makes the experience especially fun for kids and Mario fans. It really feels like stepping into the game.
In short, Toadstool Cafe is worth visiting for the immersive experience, but not for the food itself. If you’re looking for something genuinely delicious, there are much better dining options elsewhere in Universal Studios. This is a place to enjoy the theme — not to come with high expectations for the meal.

The atmosphere was great because it is themed as expected. We setup a time to eat dinner because of the amount of people there. Then the HUGE letdown. Absolutely no customer service, no waiters, no one came to talk to us, no one brought us drinks or nothing. We sat there for over an hour for a burger and fries. It looked good until you ate the food. My burger was cold and some of my fries were hard and cold. Absolutely not worth the wait. The atmosphere as nice at it is, it soon becomes repetitive since you are sitting there starring at each other for an hour. Recommend go to Disney: at least they have waiters that bring your drinks and appetizers before the main course.

What everyone else said is spot on. Some food items are 9/10, like the spaghetti and the boswer challenge... Other ones are BAD. Luigi's chicken burger is DRY. $20 for a soup? And they force you to keep the bowl and you have to carry it around the rest of the day? Service is non-existent. All they do is bring the food to your table and nothing else. You order at the counter. Get your own utensils, water, napkins. And they dare to ask you to tip when you place your order... Minimum suggested was 18%... For them to bring you your food. This is great.

Vibe was great, the Toad theme was cute but the wait time for food was a bit long considering there is also a lot of people waiting. Food was mid, ordered the Fettuccine Alfredo, Tiramisu, and the soup. The soup came with the Super mushroom but the portion was really small. Interesting experience.

The food was average at best, food was served cold, which really took away from the experience.

Yes, soup actually cost more than Mario Burger. Maybe it's for the mushroom plastic cover.
Foods are actually decent. Only downside is the dessert. pretty bad.

Toadstool Café is a great idea, especially if you’re a fan of Mario Bros. The food is okay, but the presentation is great. It gets very busy, so the waitstaff don’t always have much time to give individual attention.

Honestly, why make a reservation just to wait in another line…lol. There was like no heating, so it was pretty cold inside. Anyways, we got the Mario burger, which was pretty good! The truffle fries were alright, but my partner liked it. We also ordered the toad breadsticks, which tasted like school food… it was so bad 🥲 After that we got the special hot cocoa, which was very good on a cold day!

The food tastes okay, but it looks amazing! Reservations aren’t required, but they’re your best bet if you want a table, as the café can be fully booked for the day. Remember: a reservation only gets you in the door. Make sure you line up to order your food first before getting in the line to be seated. Your food will then be brought to your table.

Fun comfortable lunch spot!!! Great cozy vibe inside, pictures and video walls of toads EVERYWHERE! Booths are nice and food is served at a good pace. You order up at the counter and are assigned a seat. You can't get a seat until you order food first! The Mario burger was good, standard burger patty good size. The bacon was good and crispy, I also enjoyed the thousand island. The truffle fries are real crispy and full of herbs and truffle oil🤪. The wife loved her Mushroom soup, she mentioned it had lots of flavor and was nice and hot. They also let you keep the mushroom bowl holder in comes in. My son loved and ate all his Kids Spaghetti. He was extremely excited about the coin cookie that came it the power up. Great first time experience. Definitely make a reservation way ahead. Service was great, all workers inside were very nice and friendly.
