After some troubles with the EV station (apparently charger no. 2 is temperamental), I decided on a small snack to keep me going for the next hour driving. The tender combo at Chester chicken seemed like a reasonable choice. I expected the combo to come with a soda, a biscuit, and a side. Turns out, the soda fountain in front of the cash register belonged to the adjacent Subway. I don’t like Subway sandwiches, so I didn’t bother getting a drink. Lady luck continued conspiring against me: there were no more biscuits, and my preferred alternative of mac and cheese was also out. So, I got mashed potatoes and potato wedges. I was handed a teared slip of paper with “801” scribbled on it to bring to the gas station register to pay my bill.
The meal was gas station quality: the tenders were tender enough, the potatoes in mashed and wedged form were a bit salty, and the Chester sauce was ranch based. As you could probably guess by now, I’m a ketchup guy but ketchup didn’t come with my order. I asked Jesus, the cashier—not the messiah— for some ketchup, but he directed me to the hot dog station in the center of the gas station. Unfortunately, I only found relish, mustard, and mayo packets by the rolling dogs—no ketchup! I accepted defeat and enjoyed my soda-less meal without a biscuit or ketchup. Jesus graciously offered a pie for my troubles, even though I would call it a turnover.
All in all, the Chester saga was more than I expected. On my way out, I asked the gas station clerk to replenish the ketchup packets. You’re welcome.

Got here at 7:50 tonight and wanted some dinner. I was told that they close at 9 and were not making any more. All that was available was a couple of thighs and legs that had been there for who knows how long. I have to say that that is pretty poor customer service. I don't mind spending money but I will never spend it here.
