Last time I was there when I was a kid in the early 70’s my uncle Fred Chapman I believed owned it and we would go there every summer, was a beautiful place.
This restaurant is obviously one of the coolest place to eat in the area. Anytime I visit this place I am very glad. They hold their very high standard service and the highest level of cooking they serve. You definitely will enjoy this this restaurant. Highly recommended.
This spot is superb and roomy, the food was delightful and the prices were very economical. quick, efficient service and very friendly staff. I highly recommend this place.
We always enjoyed the chicken fried steak when camping at Hat Creek.

My grandmother was the chef here for many years. Her name was Lillian Benkosky and she passed away on the 22nd. She lived in a cabin behind Uncle Runts on Circle dr. This area and place are so very special to me and my Family. I really hope to see it up and running again. Please keep us up to date as my entire will be there for the opening for sure .

Uncle Runt's; My memories go back to 1975/76 when I was the Caltrans Equipment Supervisor for District 2 for the field and resident mechanic's. Hat Creek was a regular meal stop any time of the year. I especially liked to take a new person on field trips stoping in for lunch and checking on the baby rattlers kept in a box at the front door.
