Shekos Tacos represents the single greatest improvement to the Pacific Palisades in years. That may sound like a bold and perhaps audacious statement, yet it is absolutely correct: street taco vendors are the essence of what makes Los Angeles such a wonderful city. Until Shekos arrived in the Palisades, the suburban town lacked an affordable and flavorful nighttime dining option. One simply did not exist in the Palisades. The employees are kind and the portions are generous. They also keep their food production and surrounding areas notably clean and free of debris. But all is not peaceful in the land of Palisadian tacos: a coalition of angry karens has petitioned the local grocery store, Ralphs, to hire a law firm to harass the local taco vendors. Over the past few weeks, the firm (Davis Wright and Tremaine) has dispatched a representative to threaten the local daytime taco truck owners as well as the nighttime pop-up workers at Shekos. The law firm and the palisades karens are hoping that they can intimidate the small business owners into submission. These lame and arrogant individuals thrive on the suffering of others and seek to impose their will on the business people who have greatly improved the palisades. The anti-taco karens cannot be allowed to succeed in their quest to make every single establishment in the palisades an over-regulated, overpriced, bland nightmare. The type of people who are trying to run the taco vendors out of town are most likely the same type of people who would yell at people for not taking the covid vaccines or wearing masks two years ago: those who thrive on exerting petty control over the lives of others for no reason other than to fuel their own sense of self-importance and ego. Long live the taco vendors!

So far my bf and I have been there a couple of times and it's a family owned taco stand that sell tacos, burritos, tortas and more. They're service isn't so great at night which I understand cuz I've worked at one before and it's tiring. I've only ordered their tacos and so far they're good compared to most taco stands in LA. They serve a good protioned sized tacos and condiments are free. They also have Agua frescas and a Ralphs across the parking lot. Definitely a place I'll be heading before work

I ordered the steak tacos. They were good. I think they moved to: 8566 Westminster Blvd. Westminster, CA 92683 They do not accept credit card. The cost is $2.50 per carne asada taco. They close at 11 PM PT. They do not sell any drinks. The red hot sauce was too salty. The steak was dry. They are not as good as Tacos Chencho in San Jose, CA, USA.

I had 3 tacos today at 7pm, a Saturday. Asada, lengua, and adobada. All 3 were mediocre at best. Cashier shorted me one dollar giving change, seemed displeased I caught her. They are 2 bucks per.

Heading to a nearby hike and girlfriend got hungry so she pulled up to this quaint taco stand on the side of the road. We got a chicken quesadilla with onions inside which turned out to be a piece of heaven. Seasoned perfectly, cheese was pre grilled and tortilla warm soft and crispy. Employees were great and gave good recommendations on the salsa. Wonderful experience! If your thinking of stopping by just do it

Wow - best Mexican food in The Palisades comes from a stand on Sunset in front of Ralphs. They seem to be here for dinner most nights except Sunday. I love their HUGE burritos (chicken, al pastor, carnitas, or steak ) for a mere 10 bucks ($11.00 if you want Queso). My favorite is to mix the steak with the pork al pastor that they grill right in front of you. I add some onions, rice, and beans and you've got a meal for one -- maybe two! They have a selection of sauces but they are either too hot -- or have too much cilantro so I add my own Cholula at home. Never too much of a line so a quick easy dinner option on your way home. They really PILE ON THE MEAT which is a nice touch.

Why didn't I stop here sooner? I drive by this stand a a few times a week and the smoke and smell of fresh tacos finally did me in. After eating here a few times I have to say that their chicken is the best thing here. Whether it's the chicken taco, chicken quesadilla or chicken burrito, the chicken anything is the tastiest. It doesn't need any of the fixings. That's how good it is. The carnitas taco is a solid second and can stand alone without any toppings or salsas too. The pork taco is spicy but like the beef, it lacks seasoning and any true flavor. There is a whole table with onions, marinated onions, parsley, lemons and three different salsas to put on your food. It's there for anyone needing that extra kick. Their chicken quesadilla is definitely my favorite. Stuffed with diced chicken and cheese, it's grilled to perfection then cut into three big pieces. Chicken is probably the most popular since they do run out of it from time to time. The stand is literally located on the sidewalk in front of the Ralph's market and they're open to 11pm as long as it doesn't rain. No credit cards but they do take Venmo, Zelle and cash of course.A definite must if you've ever driven by and thought...should I? Uh...yeah! It's gooood!
