Inicio Coffee is a small laid-back coffee shop serving lattes, espresso, and pastries. It’s located in a small plaza on Glenoaks blvd in Sylmar, CA.
Interior design and layout were modest and limited, respectively. There were few tables and chairs but has relaxing atmosphere. No outdoor seats. I came early morning and was ebulliently greeted by a young female staff with brown almond eyes. Menu list was modest. I ordered a hot Latte and Butter croissant. Latte was perfectly concocted, however, their butter croissant was banal and mediocre in texture.
Service was on point. Staff were cordial and competent. Free wi-fi. Prices were competitive. Overall, I satisfactory experience and I recommend this coffee shop. Ciao! 😀

Why was the tone deaf barista talking politics and “stirring the pot🤪” the day after Election Day? Despite being at the heart of an immigrant community? Unprofessional behavior, not the place or the time. She was also incredibly condescending towards both of the other baristas there. Sad to see them too scared to stand their ground, it was all so uncomfortable to witness.
Not hard to decipher what these other reviewers are really saying by this dump being “a sliver of brightness” or whatever they say. Incredibly disappointed by my experience here and you could not pay me to return.

Great spot and a must visit for coffee made right and delicious pastries. Very friendly and helpful staff. I was lucky to pass by this arra and it looked great and decided to stop. I'm glad I did, you will not be disappointed.

Great little coffee shop and the only one in the area that offers high-quality coffee and nice atmosphere — no way I’m going to Dunkin Donuts for coffee and neither should you. You’ve only got one life; why not get yourself some craft bean? Corner location has 180° views to check out the intersection action and the green shrubbery that lay beyond. Well curated drink menu was well thought out and its execution of said drinks is on point, as well as the baked goods on offer……plus Inicio just sounds cool — I don’t know what it means but I likes the sound of it. So, what is stopping you?…………..…from stopping by?

I personally didn’t have a good experience. First they need to shift the cashier area because it’s at the entrance. So, it could easily be crowded and awkward while you wait in line when more than 2 people enter. Another is the baked good were over priced for the quality. My muffin wax paper was hard and broke apart and the other baked goods were kind of dry and for the price not worth it. There’s no size variance for the drink only seems to be regular size or medium size. I asked for a latte iced but asked for no ice. Mind you its size was like a medium. The barista filled it half way which I was shocked. My issue was, she could have mentioned it to me that filling it full will cost extra and I would have politely decline it. I paid over 5 dollars for 8 ounces of a no ice latte. I honestly felt scammed.Finally the atmosphere was a little too quiet. The problem is , if you decided to talk to somebody, everybody can hear your conversation. Adding some background music , (classical, jazz, or whatever) would help. All in all this is not for me and would not recommend.
