Been to this place a couple times before and it was great but will not be returning after this. Sat down with my boyfriend and my dad for a nice dinner, my dad and I decided we wanted to order a glass of wine and I happily handed our waitress my ID (I’m 22 years old). She then explained to me that I could not order any alcohol because my ID was vertical. I was very confused because I had never had a problem buying alcohol anywhere else with my vertical ID (including this same restaurant in the past) and because my ID doesn’t expire until 2025. She brought her manager over and we explained that I had been to this restaurant before and been served with this ID just fine but she insisted that it was a policy that “as far as she knew” they had been enacting for the past two years. Very disturbing experience considering my ID says in big, bold letters “age 21 in 2023”. My ID is a government issued California state drivers license so I’m not sure how that’s not a valid form of identification to buy a glass of wine at a restaurant.

We were here on a week night and it wasn't very busy at all. We we did expect a bit more with the meal since it's a bit pricey. We still enjoyed meeting our friends here. The waiter was very good and he worked hard. The salad was very good!

Even though the burger is not on the menu, it is available! Just ask the waiter. Whenever I dine here, I feel like I am truly eating luxury. Garlic confit, high grade steaks, delicious breads, and friendly wait staff. Even if it's busy, they make the effort to make you feel like the only customer there. The menu is geared towards seafood, so beware any severe seafood allergies.
Dietary restrictions: I have a pepper allergy and shellfish / seafood sensitivity- Chef Carlos made me a custom pasta dish that had a red sauce and intense complex flavor that moved me to tears. It feels silly to say, but it was so moving. I usually have to eat only red meat at nice restaurants because of the seasonings used in sauces or marinades, but chef Carlos went the extra mile to make sure I had a luxury experience.

Wife and I were ignored deliberately and blatantly. While trying to order drinks and food to go at their bar. The 3 servers congregated in a circle right next to us , chatting about one of the servers vacation coming up? Neither of the 3 asked us "Can I help you?" Or "What can I get you?" Or anything? Finally one caught eye contact with my wife after reading her face asks? "Are you ready to order?( We never got menu's to order) This was there 1st contact with us? After sitting there over 10mins. While ppl after us were being helped right away? Like before couples of Indian and Mexican decent were helped right away? "( LITERALLY OVERLY HELPED AND OVERLY POLITE) All the while wife and I were on an island sitting 2 feet away from a couple that just arrived after us? Its was late and we wanted to get food to go and head up to our room? I finally asked can we ordered????????? Then in a very terrible obvious way we were given some attention from these employees of BAR MEETS GRILL? We ordered our meals and waited another 30+mins to receive our orders? Never asked? "Would we like to order a drink?" while we waited?Finally our food arrives to go? No bag No Forks! No Spoons! No Condiments! No Bag! No Napkins! Just the plastic containers they came in...that were almost shoved across the counter to us on the bars counter top like you see in an old western with a mug of beer?
