Service here was stellar. Everyone did their jobs well and was incredibly welcoming.

Atmosphere feels modern and kind of odd. It's not bad, but it feels weird. It doesn't match up with a barbeque feeling. I wouldn't equate artisan themes with messy, delicious barbeque, but it's their stylistic choice.

The food fails horribly though as its the main selling point. Most of the meat was lukewarm or worse, absolutely cold, which made the meal disgusting and unsatisfactory. Add in that it was pricey and it ruins the whole experience. Not what I would hope from a barbeque establishment.

The odd hours and schedule adds to the frustration as its contradictory to what one would see in another restaurant.

I can't reccommend this place at all. It's a sincere and unfortunate disappointment

It's not for everybody.

I LOVED this place since it opened. However, I’ve noticed that recently the food quality isn’t what I’ve always enjoyed. They went from selling calamari, selling some with deep fried bell pepper strips and deep fried shrimp, to just regular grilled shrimp. Their pickle chips? soft and stuck together.

Almond wood was considered to be the best restaurant in Paterson until I recently visit the restaurant. The restaurant was cut into only about a quarter of the dining area paper plates, paper cups metal trays as if they were serving you in a prison using a QR code to place your order was horrible. I believe I could’ve got better results in service going to a fast food place my family like to go to almond wood for special occasions to treat us to a high class meal, but not anymore I will drive to Tracy or Modesto if I have to

Excellent food, close to I-5. Sliders (1 pulled pork and 1 brisket) and Brisket Grilled Cheese were excellent. Service outstanding.

We were hoping to have a nice family dinner outing but had the most awful experience. Getting a table was no trouble but then we were just left there. After a while and not having seen any staff we finally tracked someone down and asked about getting a menu and some drinks. Only then were we informed that this is now a self serve restaurant. Apparently there's a QR code on the napkin dispenser and we were supposed to order our own cups for drinks. Nobody explained this to us when they seated us, they just walked away and left us to figure it out? We have four young children and not all the free hands to be scanning codes on our phones and figuring out this self service on our own. Finally a young man told us he could order them for us, which we thanked him for. Then he asked for payment before bringing the cups. Apparently you pay as you order things so we just ordered our whole meal with the drinks to prepay for it all. We ordered the family combo meal and had our selection of meats, sides and bread. Food was delivered to table in larger containers and trays and then we were just left again. We had to track someone down to get something to serve and put our food on. (Did they expect us to all grab forks and eat out of one macaroni and cheese dish??!!) The server brought us the tiniest cardboard bowls that were way smaller than ONE RIB. We could not even put ten bites of food in them. Finally we found someone else who got us larger cardboard bowls to serve our food in. But I could not even cut my meat to eat it because the cardboard was shredding under my tri tip which was barely even cutting it because they only had butter knives. We could not believe they didn't even have dishes for us to eat our food on and that we had to track someone down to even get anything to serve and eat our food on. Staff was scarce and the only waitress we saw took care of one large group at the end of the restaurant then would disappear right behind their table into the kitchen. We saw no other tables being taken care of and had we not tracked down people on our own we wouldn't have gotten anywhere. Hands down worst experience we've ever had. It's a far cry from the Apricot Wood we knew and loved and while the food might still be great that isn't even enough to get us to order from there ever again. Do better Almond Wood!!

I’m only allowed to give one star and that is way too much. The actual food was delicious. But I was as a single diner only given outside seating as an option in 96°. Place order at counter, not seated to review menu. Have to pay and tip prior to receiving any food or drink. Short turn around of 47 minutes to receive meal ordered. The place was less than half capacity while I was the sole individual seated outside. When I decided I was full, I got up to use the restroom and was going to request a to-go box. As I walk back out to patio, bus person had removed what was a little more than half of my ordered meal. Mind you, I dined alone after getting served for over half an hour with no checkin to see if I needed anything, meal was fine or drink refills. Again, the food itself was delicious but would rather a proctology exam from a puma before I’d dine here again.

I order and pickup. My favorites are the brisket, the ribeye, and the pasta. Always cooked to perfection and ready on time. That gold sauce is made with magic!

Food and service is amazing all the times I have dined in. My only complaint is EVERY TIME I get a Togo it quotes me 45 mins, then when I get there I wait an extra 20+ mins because the food isn’t ready…Then when I get home there are zero sauces, utensils, dressings or apricot butter in the bag for all the things I’ve ordered. Super disappointed.

I truly enjoyed dinner here last night. The staff is friendly and attentive. They will make you feel welcome and appreciated. The food was plentiful and delicious. The prices are great! You get a lot of food and will go home with some. Get a reservation online before you go. This is a popular place.

Almond Wood is one of the best restaurants in town. Their BBQ is delicious. Love their cornbread too. Not too sure how the burgers and pizza are as I've not tried them.
