A true "hole in the wall" restaurant. Worth driving to for an excursion to the countryside. Located in beautiful Pauma Valley, El Rey is a local's weekly routine. We go at least once a week. This is good tasting Mexican food along with the home style atmosphere. The staff are either family or loyal to the establishment. They've been there for a long time. The Skinny margarita is a favorite, not as sweet. Salsa too is fresh and of course the food is a choice...
Great food really friendly and accommodating
Vegetarian options: No lard used at all
Dietary restrictions: I can't eat gluten. I was able to get what I wanted on a corn tortilla
