Meh, Mediocre food, pricy!
Unique and totally delicious. The portions are generous and the cocktails are fantastic as well. Good for date nights or the whole family.
We arrived and were greeted by a nice hostess, that’s the only good service we got from this restaurant. We ordered the fried wonton with crab, which was decent but nothing special. Had to wait a full 25 mins after we finished our app to be approached by our waiter. We asked about which ceviche he suggested, he stood there looking around like he was bothered and said “ya that one is good”. He then proceeded to snatch the menus off the table and rush away. I think we were too shocked to say anything, we had planned to order entrees and another drink. The ceviche was delivered by a nicer guy and he asked us if we needed anything. Our server didn’t bother coming back at all until we had to flag him down a whole 30mins later. By then we had no interest in spending anymore money there. It’s a bummer we won’t go back cause this was our first time there and really wanted to find a new restaurant. This was a Thursday btw.
Always love coming here. Our go to place in Petaluma.
Delicious flavors in a unique riverside location.
The view and atmosphere are fantastic here. The food is delicious and the staff are all friendly and fun. I highly recommend Ayawaska!
A Peruvian Twist in Petaluma
Located in downtown Petaluma, Ayawaska RestoBar is a Peruvian restaurant that offers traditional Peruvian cuisine with a modern twist. Overlooking the Petaluma River, the restaurant provides both indoor and outdoor seating, making it a perfect spot to enjoy a meal, especially on a pleasant afternoon. The location is fantastic, with minimal car traffic and easy access by foot from anywhere in downtown.
Peru is a melting pot of cultures and, by extension, cuisines from China, Japan, Spain, France, and indigenous peoples. The menu at Ayawaska reflects this diversity, offering many familiar Peruvian classics, including several types of fish, ceviche, yuccas, and, of course, quinoa and beef dishes. Each dish is prepared with a modern touch that enhances the traditional flavors.
The bar menu is equally impressive! Their pisco sour and other cocktails made with Peruvian brandy are delightful. The pisco sour, in particular, is a must-try. After enjoying one or two of these expertly crafted cocktails, you will be one happy customer.
In addition to the food and drinks, Ayawaska RestoBar hosts live music on weekends, adding to the vibrant and lively atmosphere. The staff is friendly and attentive, ensuring a pleasant dining experience. Whether looking for a casual lunch, a romantic dinner, or a fun night out with friends, Ayawaska RestoBar offers a unique and memorable dining experience in Petaluma.

The best Peruvian restaurant in all of California, and we have been to many looking for the best flavor, price and quality.
The Petaluma restaurant is much better than the Ayawaska in Novato.
We went on the 31st to Petauma and on the 1st to Novato and we ordered the same dishes, and we were able to compare the presentation, quantity and flavor, a 10 to Petaluma and an 8 to Novato.
The ceviche was excellent, the tres leches a pleasure and the yellow chili risotto perfect.

A decent place. All the entrees are very similar with similar flavor profiles and ingredients. A bit overpriced. The service is good. The plate presentations nice with lots of edible flowers. Everything needs salt and kinda bland.
The empanadas are above average.

Fantastic food, great people, and a nice, quiet place for dinner.
We were going to another restaurant that had ignored our call and request for a call back when we walked past Ayawaska and decided to stop. That was an excellent decision. We had great pollo empanadas and the tuna ceviche for appetizers. Both were perfect.
For dinner, we had the duck and linguini with filet. The duck was incredible. The linguini was spectacular.
We're so happy we found Ayawaska. We'll be back.

Way overpriced for poor service and not so great food. Seating was uncomfortable. We expected a better experience.

we had a group of 10 people and made an online reservation for 7:30pm several weeks before. they called morning of to confirm it, we said we’d be there. however, when we arrived, they tried to turn us away stating that the kitchen closes at 7:45. unbelievable that they would make a reservation for 15 minutes before the kitchen closes. when we were all sat, our server told us we had two minutes to decide and order drinks, appetizers, and main dishes. horrible customer service. food was amazing though.
