Uniquely delicious! Loved the vegetarian dish added with the fish. Plus the service was so nice.

Ceviche was impeccable- lots of fish and flavorful
What I didn’t like - the smell inside the restaurant. Someone have been smoking

That ceviche though

I'm giving them 1 star because they don't seem to follow their own hours. This is the second time we've tried to go there and they're not open. Even though the hours on their window clearly state that they open at 11:30am on Weds.
We also tried making reservations and we got no response.

***in response to the owner - if you saw me walk to your door, you would've seen that I pulled on it to open. It did not in fact open. Because it was locked.

I looked into it and it was completely empty and no one came to the door. If the door was unlocked but difficult to open I would've hoped that someone would've opened it and made it clear how to open the door. That was not the case.

The reservations were also not for today. They were for later on in the month, which no one messaged to confirm with any of the people that tried doing so. Which is why I was there to speak to someone about it. But, again not to be as the door wasn't open. I saw no tables or sign outside (which if you look at the reflection on the picture is perfectly clear does not match photos of what it looks like when it's actually open)

You can try to play the victim, but that's not going to work when you didn't do the right thing. Which would've been to come to the door and let me in (which would've been the simplest and best thing to do). Now all you've done is made my disappointment even greater as I was looking forward to trying out your place.

En verdad, que pena.

This is a family-owned business and family run. The food was good. The dishes and chicha morada were very good overall and the price is reasonable.

Some suggestions… 1) The music volume could be lowered. It’s hard to listen to your party. 2) Instead of showing sports on the tv, there could be images of Peru or the restaurant food. 3) The lomo saltado was salty, so it may be good to check the recipe for consistency. 4) The server could use a branded polo or t-shirt to make the restaurant look more professional.

Got the lomo saltado and pollada takeaway. Neither one was particularly impressive honestly, they were both uninspired. Wouldn't go out the way to go back.

owner was incredibly sociable and kind, and the food was absolutely delicious. Very cool to learn about the history of the different items on the menu too!!

Dietary restrictions: owner also assured us that any substitutions for allergies could be made, and my celiacs dad had no issue eating any of the food here!!

The food was good, but I didn't enjoy the atmosphere. The music was too loud, and I felt a bit pressured by the chef to get the most expensive item on the menu. Portions are small

I am so grateful to have discovered Bistro 201, a charming family-owned Peruvian restaurant in Petaluma. My husband loved the Carapulcra Con Puerco, while I savored the Leche De Tigre Ceviche. The Maracuya Sour and Sangria were delightful, and the Passion Fruit Tiramisu was simply divine. The live music added to the wonderful atmosphere. I wholeheartedly endorse Bistro 201 and extend my gratitude to Sergio, Alejandra, and Alejandra’s Mom for the exceptional food and service!

The food and place was so good I had to make a review here. It’s family owned serving true Peruvian food. Food tastes excellent! We had a perfect costumer service and good music playing in the background. We also were recommended to try the passion fruit tiramisu and it was so yummy! Definitely coming back here with family and friends!

We had the most amazing experience and meals! We came as two families, and it was very family friendly for our young kids. The kids loved the yucca fries and chicken. I found the ceviche to be phenomenal and the best I’ve had in north bay (and I get ceviche any time it’s on a menu). The staff was super welcoming and warm, and so personable. The piano player made it an even more elevated experience. I’m excited to discover our family’s new favorite restaurant in Petaluma!

Kid-friendliness: Kids love the roasted chicken and yucca fries. They cut up the chicken in easy to eat pieces.

The food is fabulous. The service is even better. The owner made us feel like family. We thought we were full until they brought out dessert! Amazing.

This is the worst paella I’ve ever had. It was filled with squid 4 in hues long. The seafood tasted bad and the paella was a bad flavor, like squid juice. Hard to mess up paella this badly.

Will definitely come back! I chose just closest place on google maps and it was Bistro 201. Perfect service, very friendly and caring staff. I tried Chicha Morada - reminded me about Spanish Sangria - super tasty and refreshing. And for the meal i had Pollada with chicken and potatoes. Yummy! Whenever I'll be in Petaluma I'll stop to eat there again!
