What a great experience! Quiet Wednesday night - a little rainy so having a remarkable meal in a cozy warm cafe/restaurant hit the spot. Welcoming staff, interesting menu and great wine list. I really enjoyed the shrimp stuffed calamari - very interesting original dish - well done!! The short ribs were perfect and the cod was well prepared and excellent. Wine choices were good and the wine by the glass if high quality. The service was very very good! Recommend.

We enjoyed our evening at Central Market. The food was delicious, attentive service and ample selection of wine. Will definitely have dinner there again.
I have had better luck at Central Market before. The appetizers and salad were very good. But for mains - just not much choice at all for a non-meat eater. So I ordered the smoked salmon pizza (warm pizza but covered with cold smoked salmon like lox) but did not like it. If I went back and there were still no real vegetarian options for mains, I would stick to the appetizers. And it was NOT inexpensive. So, for what we paid, I would have liked everything to be the quality of the appetizers and more no -meat choices.
The food is incredible, the service was so lovely and the chef has a very charming way to make everyone feel quite at home. An absolute gem of Petaluma.
Made a 5:45 reservation to have dinner before a show. It was peak dining time and the restaurant was very busy. We waited a bit to be seated and to put in our order, but we were able to sneak in a few appetizers from the happy hour menu. The service was very attentive with turning over our plates and making sure our water was always full. The Drake's Bay oysters were so fresh and came with two types of mignonette sauce. The stuffed focaccia was warm, crispy on the outside, and soft and flavorful on the inside. We shared the papardelle which had a nice flavor, great bite on the the pasta, and generous portion of the sauce. We also shared the funghi pizza which had a great garlic punch and was covered edge to center with generous mushrooms, onions, cheese and arugula. I noticed the chef walk around and visit many tables and greet the guests. We were very lucky that as we were waiting to pay out, he came to see if we wanted dessert (menu looks SO good but we were out of time) and even though we did not order dessert, he brought us some house made macarons on the house. These were a delightful treat, especially since we were sad we didn't have time for dessert. Beautiful open concept that felt warm, vibrant and like you were sharing chef's kitchen!
In a town that's full of great restaurants, Central Market is in a class by itself. The chef/owner sources ingredients locally (some of it from his own farm) and creates a memorable dining experience that justifies repeat visits. The staff is attentive and knowledgeable about the food and the wine. A great place for a special occasion or simply a weeknight dinner!
Tony made a meatball: maybe the best meatball…ever. If you’re someone who, like me, is compulsively drawn to order the freestanding meatball on every menu, this will be a spiritual experience. If you’re not a meatball experience collector, the pork chops are also 10/10. There’s a reason this restaurant is packed with locals and their guests night after night, year after year: it always delivers.

Couldn't be more impressed! Loved every bite! We ordered the wagyu skewers, the trout crudo, the risotto and the lamb neck. And everything was so flavorful and tasted amazing.
Drove from San Francisco to meet friends here.
Immediately thought to myself, “Man, it’s kinda quiet in here!”. I’m used to restaurants where it’s loud and bustling. This is not that kind of place. The lights are also bright, whereas most dinner restaurants the lights are dim. So, in terms of ambiance, the restaurant could be better. (But, some people don’t mind this).
That said, once the food arrived… it was game over.
We ordered a little bit of everything.
Pizza. Steak. Sweet corn risotto. Dessert.
The food was INCREDIBLE. All of it was delicious.
That said, I highly recommend this restaurant and I’d definitely go again. I really cannot make one single complaint about the food or service.

Terrific food; wonderful hospitality. Chef - owner took time to visit with us and explain some menu items. Wait staff was friendly. Timing of food delivery excellent. No rush even on a busy Friday night.
Maybe my 8th experience at CM and I was for the first time a little disappointed. The food was ok , but nothing as it used to be . We ordered the escarole salad, bucatini pasta and wagyu sirloin. Nothing stood up , presentation was basic and flavors very blend. I feel their menu was not very original , I hope it was an "off" night, it happens.. Will go back in few weeks in hope It will stay one of my fav. in Petaluma.
Always excellent service and food. In red arugula and mushroom pizza . Nice wine selection too
